Love!!
These sandals are so comfortable and have fabulous arch support. My feet were instantly happy when I put these on. They do run a little narrow but still fit perfectly. I’d say they also run a bit short in length as well. I normally wear a 7.5 and definitely need a size 8 in these.
So cheaply manufactured now
I got this pair as a replacement for my other well loved chacos and unfortunately its a no for me. In terms of shoe width, I don’t have wide feet and I’m used to the Chaco footbed, but this is narrower. Just something to keep in mind if you have wider feet. Why this is a 1 star for me though is why the footbed feels like a cheap Old Navy flip flop. Like there is no way these are going to hold up on trail and if you are wearing them for around town, the foam used on the bottom of the shoe is going to get ripped to shreds and you’ll be replacing these in 3 months. I bought these because i appreciated how long my previous pairs lasted me and could be resoled, but if Chaco is going in the direction of chasing a quick buck and in turn creating more polution instead of making a product that is going to last for a decent amount of time, then I’ll have to find a new outdoor sandal company to support.
No traction, too small - very disappointing
Sizing is off - I have worn the same size in Chaco sandals for years, and my typical size (8) was too small in these. I was also really disappointed in the materials. These had no traction - I slipped on wood floors. Chacos are often my default footwear for all things outdoors (hiking, canoeing, you name it). I couldn’t do any of those things reliably in the CushZ sandals. They were cute but didn’t fit or meet my needs, so I returned them.
Not comfortable - runs narrow
I love the color and design but unfortunately these did not work out for me. I believe I have a normal shaped foot but these shoes are very narrow, making them uncomfortable. I also don’t think they are cushioned enough, they immediately felt uncomfortable (not just from being narrow but actual support). 2 stars for design and color.
Finally for flat feet...almost
I fell in love with my first pair of Chaco's in 1995. Those same pair get resoled/restrapped by the service offered through Chaco because I have purchased MANY (some in wide, men/women sizing) since then, yet the arch or variety of footbed/soles just don't jive with my wide, flat feet. I love my original pair so much that I remained hopeful that I'd find another pair equally as comfortable. Finally, these are ALMOST the solution. They didn't offer wide, and I didn't notice the Cush style on sale in men's sizing, so I went with women's 9. I am an 8.5. When I put them on I was immediately skeptical, but I walked enough inside to avoid getting the soles dirty before deciding I would eventually not focus each step on the arch. Overall, the arch is still higher than I'd prefer, but because of the Cush material, I can walk without them eventually hurting. If the arch wasn't so high, I could move my foot further back and my toe wouldn't be right at the edge. This still works for me, but if others are between sizes and have flat feet, they may want to size up. For all that, I did not think it worth taking off an entire star or an indicator that the sizing was off. Also, I haven't gone on a multi-terrain hike in them, but I've done enough distance walking before reviewing this. I'll note that I've also tried other brands of low-arch sandals in Men's sizing because it is wider, and those were great for the water but not for walking longer distances.
