Great boot for moderate cold, wet weather, and general use.
I bought these as a pair of boots for shorter walks and more casual use and they've worked great. The waterproofing works well, and they're warm enough for my use into the mid 20s without having super thick socks on. They're also light and comfortable enough I sometimes work full shifts without changing my shoes even though I keep a work pair. I use them mostly for walking around in town, and probably wouldn't take them out on hikes, but they've become my goto because they're easy to slip on, comfortable, and I don't feel like I'm lugging giant boots everywhere I go. I also like they are flexible enough I can cycle in them without feeling like I can't move my ankles.
Too tight on the mid section
While I like the build, design and weight. My size 9.5 turned out to be too tight in the middle inner side. I did order a 10 that fits better, but overall it feel super loose, bummer. 9.5 with a little tiny extra seam on the side would have been a perfect fit. Not many place around here had one to try before buy, hence resorted to online shopping. That said I am Big time Keen fan. I could just put on any keen pair if I could find most modal a good fit (have 6 different pairs of sandals and now a boot). Most shoe models just end up being painful or uncomfortable for my liking, guess I got special need feet.
very comfortable, good looking boot
I initially got these to replace my Redhead shoes I use around the property to work in the barn and yard, but they are not only comfortable but look great, so much so that I wear them out with semi-casual wear! Have only had them about 1 month, but so far so good on durability. They are a slip on boot, so do not expect them to fit especially tight above the ankle, the only somewhat drawback. I would not attempt to move quickly/run in these as you will likely step right out of them. This, of course is not their designed intent, which is why I'm still giving it 5 stars. Just something to think about depending on what job/desired use you have for them. Would recommend these highly
Awesome Boot!!
Have to leave a review since it’s a given. I believe I’ve had this boot, like 5/6 years and the quality is excellent. Easy slip on, exact fit, and by far the most comfortable boot I’ve ever worn. Traction is great! After so long the boot is still kicking with normal wear and tear with some days on some days off. It’s starting to wear on the heals after so long. Still going, but about to purchase new ones just to have, that’s how much I like ‘em. This review is for others contemplating on buying. Give it a try, you won’t regret it. I’m only leaving this review since it’s the only ones I rock…. Note: I always go one size higher , you don’t want exact fit, you need room, for like socks
The MOST comfortable...
I sure hope Keen keeps making this boot. This is one of the most comfortable Keen shoes I have ever put on my feet. I had an earlier version of these (maybe the Achorage II?) and kept looking for that style to come back in stock, then these came along.... One thing I do miss, being a contractor, is the ""Keen Protect"" steel shank under the footbed. The very first day I wore the old style I stepped off of a ladder onto a nail, no puncture, no wound! I may not wear these on the job site though they are too comfy and pass nicely for a casual dress shoe. Keep up the good work Keen. Thanks, Gordon
Great boots with bad pull tabs.
Great comfortable boot that has held up well in a rural setting. Unfortunately both the back pull tabs have torn off. The first one during the first month of wear, the other one a year later. I have 6 other pairs of Keen shoes or boots that have much better pull tabs.
Great concept, but make sure they really fit you.
I really want to love these, but the fit is funky, at least for me. I have a pair of keen slip-on low tops that I wear daily, so I was hoping these could be the perfect wintertime companion. Unfortunately, while the footbed length is right, the the fit around the upper foot and ankle is way too loose. This is decidedly more pronounced on one shoe than the other. My suggestion is to try them on in a store and make sure the fit is just right before committing. The waterproofing has been great, and slip on is convenient, so if they fit your feet, you’ll probably really like them.
Work + Everyday
I "discovered" elastic-sided, slip-on work boots while living in Australia, and definitely wanted some more after moving back to the U.S. At the time I found this Keen version a couple years ago, it wasn't quite what I was looking for, but I tried them. They're not only great work boots, but they're the most comfortable footwear I own. Keen is known for a generous toe box and I really like that feature a lot. Unless I'm "dressing up," these are the gear I pull on every day. So, given the times, the supply chain issues, and the uncertainties, I decided I'd better get another pair if possible, and I was very pleased to find that they're still available. So now I have a "dirty work" pair and a "nice work" pair.
Anchorage III
I've had them for a few weeks now, and really enjoy the convenience. I commute on bike, and these do well to block the wind and keep my feet toasty. They have been great on some short easy hikes, but for anything more aggressive, I would want to lace my boots. Still, these are great for around the city, and in the snow and ice. I have a pair of hiking boots from Keen, but these have a bit more room, and move on my foot more. I expected some movement since they are slip ons, but it is more than I expected. I still rate them true to size, because my toes hit where they should.
Comfy!
I have wide feet that don't fit comfortably in "women's" shoes so I tend to buy in "men's" sizes. I got these in M8. These boots are super comfy for me & my osteoarthritic ankle. I was able to do a lot of sight-seeing when I went on vacation & they're super great for teaching and traveling on public transit. They're definitely on the side of providing extra warmth and not stretchy at all. I can't use thick socks with them, I only use super thin socks or Snag tights. Occasionally I have to pop out a foot to cool it off but my feet don't sweat in them as I thought they would.
