[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was suprised when I went online to order another pair of my usual fave hyperions and saw this change, but trusted it would be along the same lines. Drastically different shoe, heavier, bigger, slower and completely different feeling heel landing and feeling as if my toes were hitting a wall and being crammed into a hole with each foot strike (especially on treadmill or pavement). I waited until I had 350 miles on them to make up my mind, but I really miss the old hyperion, and looking at which shoe to buy tonight has me at a loss. Its ok and does the job if you never ran in the previous versions, but not sure I will buy another pair.
Noooo!! Please stop changing these shoes! Loved the original Hyperion tempos and was crushed with the Hyperion. I was so happy with the Hyperion 2s and very relieved! But here we are again with the 3s.... both the Hyperion 3 and the 3 max are just awful. Hyperions originally had ground feel, were responsiveness and snappy, but they are just getting bulkier and bulkier. I loved the Hyperions tempos (and the Hyperion/max 2s) because they were just a regular shoe perfect for speed, tempo and long runs - versatile and a low stack height. They were awesome. Now they're like moon shoes with way too much "tech". Bring back the old styles please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Brooks Hyperion 3 really surprised me as I found it to be an excellent walking shoe. I am not much of a runner, but more of a fast walker, usually covering about 1 to 3 miles at a time. These shoes have a lot of cushioning, making it feel soft but still also responsive and due to the DNA Flash nitrogen injected soles, I'm not getting that harsh ground impact that can make longer walks uncomfortable over time. They are very lightweight! My feet are pretty small for a woman, and they definitely do not feel bulky on them. They look great; I love the pop of colors and the mesh material makes them very breathable, which is what I liked most about them. The one thing I didn't really like is the heel as I felt it protrude outward a little too much, catching onto stairs as I went down at times. Overall a great shoe for casual or fast walking, and running.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These are great shoes for those who love a glove-like fit. My favorite feature is the tongue, which is made of super-stretchy fabric. When you pull the younger tab it shrinks the shoe to your foot. It has the comfort of a sock running shoe, but it has the stability of a regular shoe. These gave me a good spring in my step when running. The arch fit my foot nicely. They are not the most cushy pair I have, but they are great. The back part around your ankle has padding which possibly prevented a blister. I love the light blue color with contrast to the neons. One reason I gave them three stars is that they hurt the outside of my feet. I have narrow to regular feet, and this is the first time I have had this issue with a running shoe. The toe box is a bit smaller than I like. I am a true size 10, I maybe I the Hyperion 3 shoe I need a 10.5. I they fit your feet they would be great for road running, trails, cross training, and walking. Bonus, they look cute with jeans and a T-shirt when running errands.
I switched from the Launch to the Hyperion 2 because they made the toe box more cramped in the Launch. Now they have done the same thing with the Hyperion 3s. It is SO uncomfortable. Not only is it smaller, the reinforced sides give your foot no where to go. The upper feels nice and stretchy, but around the toe box it is reinforced trapping your foot where it can't move. All the research shows that your toes need room, why are we going the wrong direction? Other shoe companies are doing this too. It is so hard to find a firm trainer with room in the toe box.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The effortless glide when running in the Hyperion 3’s is beautiful. As you run, there’s some sort of foam cushion underneath that feels like a hybrid mattress - not too springy, and not too squishy, but still comfortable. They are not like memory foam, which sinks. As I ran, I could feel the soles of the shoes popping up gently to meet my arch which was AMAZING for my balance as I landed. The teal colorway isn’t normally the route I’d go as a neutral girly, but I’ve changed my tune. The brighter colors against the pavement really helped me watch my gait. I’ve been training in weather, mostly rain, and I do appreciate how non-absorbent the fabric and laces are. I haven’t run in puddles, FYI. Overall, these have been my new go-to sneakers when I go for any run (long or short) and even for errands and farmers markets. I’ve been testing them on different terrain (they are ok on sand, but they’re not meant for beach running IMO), and they have still bounced back in their way that I like. They do have a bit of height to them, which I also like, but that is something to be aware of if you aren’t into that. I will be recommending these in my running group.
For running i didn’t like the front comfort of the shoe i felt it was too thin for me and not comfortable
Bought and returned immediately. I was a huge fan of Hyperion 2 - bought 2 pairs and loved emerging about them from look to feel- all you could want in a running shoe!! As they gazed out the Hyperion 2 I bought the Hyperion 3 and was disappointed. Why ruin a great thing…. the overall fit was tight, snug and no room. I have worn an 8.5 in all Brooks models from Ghost, glycerin, and Hyperion and never had problem til the Hyperion 3. Again, wished they would not have changed a great shoe in the Hyperion 2 …. If you liked those you will not be happy w new version!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my first pair of Brooks Hyperion shoes. Right out of the box these shoes impressed. Obviously with Brooks quality, durability and reliability are going to be high. These shoes are different than other Brooks running shoes. I'd say more performance than casual running shoes. For me they are ideal training shoes. The big, super light foam sole is the first thing that got my attention. Trying them on the colors we're nice and bright. The upper and sock liner are really well made. The shoe fits well, I am a 9 in most athletic shoes and these fit perfectly. The tongue has a nice pull tab so it can be easily adjusted for comfort without having to work your foot or tie or untie laces. These shoes give excellent firm support to the whole foot and at the same time great cushion and bounce. Trying them on I thought they might be too firm especially since I run on my toes but breaking them in and wearing them a long runs they are comfortable and transition smoothly over different terrains keeping my feet really comfortable, feeling fully supported and cradled in the shoe adding the cushion and bounce these push me to a faster running pace and a faster starting breakout. Overall, I would say these are high quality performance shoes. I think dedicated and faster runners will really like the Hyperion 3.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Why change what works?!? These shoes are so heavy and clunky. No flexibility to the sole whatsoever. The toebox is just wrong. I run 6 miles every day on my treadmill. I couldn’t make it through 2 with these shoes. I had to take them off and put on my old shoes. If I wore them more, I would rate them based on how many toenails I would have left. absolutely loved the previous version. If I could find another pair of them in my size, I would snatch them up . This version is an absolute no thank you
