I got this pullover earlier in the year and have not gotten to utilize it during any strenuous activities or adventures to really put it to the test. However, as just my general pullover to wear around town as the weather has cooled down, I love it. I just got caught in a brief downpour in it as well. Though not a waterproof piece, it beaded up nicely and long enough to keep me dry in between errands. Fit is great, I'm 5 ft tall and 115lbs and the small fits perfectly. The koala pocket is spacious for my phone/keys/wallet (or toddler snacks) and zips on either side. I normally gripe about a lack of thumb loops but this pullover fits so perfectly that I don't notice. I recommend picking one up!
The Women's Vesper insulated Pullover is well constructed, with a fairly long front zipper. This makes it very easy to get on and off. The large kangaroo pocket is great for keeping your hands warm, or carrying your phone and a pair of gloves. The collar fits superbly under other jacket, no extra bulk like other hooded insulated garments. Maybe a version without a collar, for those who will be layering it under other jackets. The sizing is a little smaller than other brands, I normally wear a size Large in most other brands but with Outdoor Research, I order a women's Xtra Large.
This jacket is cozy and warm for its weight to be sure, but the fit and durability are lacking. For starters, it hits at a really weird place on the hips, at least for me. Second, there's hardly any stretch to it, which makes pulling it off and on a real chore; it's annoying enough that I find myself not wanting to wear it if I'm going to be adjusting layers regularly. Finally, after only a few wears, it's already pilling. As in, the synthetic insulation is pilling out through micro holes in the fabric. So there are little white dots all over my black jacket. When I pulled on one, a whole bunch of insulation came out. Not the quality I've come to expect from OR. Never had an issue with their other outerwear.
