Love the bike!! I actually switched from a mountain bike to this Cannondale since I do mostly roads and gravel trails! The mountain bike I had was good but wasn’t what I needed for my type of riding. I’m 72 and only had done indoor cycling so road riding was new to me. The mountain bike took too much energy especially on steep hills. This Cannondale is smooth and climbs hills with less effort! GREAT BIKE!! Also, the salesperson Alex, was wonderful to work with and was very knowledgeable, exactly what I needed since I know very little about the type of bikes out there.
I looked around a lot before buying this bike. I ride mostly on converted rail line trails and local streets. The ride is smooth and the 10 speed gearing is just fine for climbing hills or cruising on the flats. The phone mount is a nice touch too. As suggested, if you’re on the lower end of a size range, size down to avoid over extending with your forward reach. I may switch out the seat, which isn’t very comfortable, and is the only downside of the bike.
Bike itself is good - REI service is horrendous. Bike was in stock, but needed assembled. I was on a tight deadline (in town on a conference), but was assured they could complete in 5 days. They waited two days to tell me the bike was damaged. I cancelled the order and purchased at another nearby REI that already had it assembled (why couldn’t they have done the legwork on that?). They never truly cancelled the order, and it keeps coming up on my credit card as a purchase every other week, and now every week. It’s been two months! Maybe this next call will resolve, but I’m not hopeful. I don’t see a way to cancel online as it shows as paid. The one that I did purchase was not assembled all too well. The wheels were not balanced well. It was easy enough to fix on the road (McGyver style), but should have been a basic check on the assembly with the right equipment.
Bought this bike to ride the C&O towpath and GAP trail which was 335 miles. Put a front handle bar bag and a rear pannier frame with two pannier bags. Carried 40 pounds altogether on my trip.. I switched out the bike seat for a softer seat. This bike was fast and smooth through mud, dirt, sand, gravel, paved roads. I Rode through a severe storm with it and it rode effortlessly through all that. My previous bike was a salsa gravel. Number four that was a specialized road bike. This bike might be slightly heavier, but blows both of those bikes away.
This is a great riding bike if you don't need accessories. I could not use one of the frame mounts or the rack mount. I am happy and sad. I want to keep it for the ride but I need the accessories.
I have this bike in an XS and love it. The gears are easy to function and it’s a smooth ride. I did change out the saddle for extra comfort because I’m new to biking. With an XS frame it’s difficult to find bike storage bags that fit but a local bike shop was able to help.
Beautiful, easy to ride and just what I wanted. I am petite, and the XS bike worked perfectly for me. Wish it had a water bottle holder, though. Gears are easy to use. I haven't taken it on a long ride, but the short rides around the neighborhood have been wonderful. Very smooth.
