I used this shoe on some rocky ground west of Laramie, Wyoming. I walked around 10 miles before trip to try to break them in. On the trip, I hiked around 40 miles over a few days while carrying around 20lbs on my back the entire time. I tried this shoe because it was marketed as light and supportive and I wanted a shoe that could breath. What worked well on these shoes was their breathability. That was good. They also seem to be very well made and quality materials. What didn't work for me was how heavy the soles felt vs top of shoe, and also how stiff they were. They never "broke-in". Even though I wouldn't feel individual rocks under my feet .... they still felt like I was walking on concrete the entire time. I put in after market hiking insoles to see if that would help, and they still felt too hard. At end of day my feet were tired. Which is something not typical for me with other boots/shoes I've used. I could maybe see these working well on softer terrain though. Grip was good.
