A really nice running shoe that looks as good as it feels. The foam compound has held up nicely after about 200mi of trail running. I knocked a star off because the stack height is pretty tall and the shoe relatively unstable so they are prone to ankle rolling on uneven ground. I threw some SOLE inserts in them and they feel too arch heavy and pronating more than i'd like but are breaking in to accommodate this. Uppers have held up fine. My wife's wildhorses from a few models ago also have held up great and the foam is still super comfy and cussioning for her so I think you can count on these lasting a few model upgrades before buying again. This is a forward moving shoe. Cross training in this shoe would be a bad idea given the lateral support i feel.
Overall I am impressed. This not just a trainer but is able to handle any ultra you throw at it. It is great for those who cannot get into the lower drop shoes for ultra running. I am an active ultra-runner. I have ran 2 50 milers and multiple 50ks in the single pair of shoes. I have put close to 700-800 miles on these shoes and sadly I will say it is finally time for a second pair. I do agree with the comments it does role fairly easy on heavier terrain but if you have stronger ankles like me it doesn't matter. I would say just add a wider base of the shoe and that would fix it. No holes, I just wore the rubber off the shoes. When it comes to road or terrain these are a great shoe to jump into. Good job nike 👏
I used to love your air max variety, vapor max, 270, 95’s, all that good stuff but as I got closer to 40 years of age my my interest in shoes went from color blocking and the classics, to all about comfort being my number one priority now. I made the switch to Pegasus a couple years back, and those are one of the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever worn, however, this wildhorse is top tier, the fit, the comfort and the color blocking/colorways are absolutely awesome, and they fit absolutely perfect. The Pegasus I’ve had some issues with my usual shoe size being tight. If you aren’t considering buying these wildhorse Nikes, don’t wait, you’ll regret it. They’re amazing and I just ordered another pair to not miss out on them
Finally found a Nike trail or road shoe that is wide enough for me, but I went up a half size because they don't come in wide. I tried all the other Nike trail shoes and this is by far the best, even better than the far more expensive Nikes. The last good fitting Nike for me was the Invincible 3 Wide and I bought up enough pairs after seeing how narrow the entire new Vomero line is, even in their so called extra wide option. The Wildhorse 10 is great on roads and trails with a nice soft midsole, good grip and super comfortable upper and the shoe is really put together well. A 5 star shoe IMO, just like the Invincibles were and hope it does not end discontinued too.
I wore them once for a run on regular dry pavement, not even on a trail just to test them out. When I returned home I noticed a hole in the toe box. I am extremely disappointed because they were very comfortable and thought I had found my new trail shoe. Sadly I am returning them because they are apparently very fragile for a supposed trail shoe that should last longer than one run on dry pavement. I also purchased a pair of the Pegasus trail 5 and hope they hold up better.
For the mix of trails that I run, from loose flat gravel to rocky trails … this is the the worst trail shoe I’ve ever owned! They are inferior to the Wildhorse 8s in every aspect! Horrendous going up hills or a challenging gradient, no grip from the ball of the foot to the toes when pushing off … lateral instability on rocky trails meant I couldn’t trust the shoe’s stability and had to ease off! They are comfy and have great spring, but they are seem more suitable to pounding the pavements & roads and level (flat) trails … these will be my new shoe for road races from now on! Back to Hokka I go!
I bought the Black/Peat Moss/Volt Ice/Phantom color way. The obvious is that the shoes look great. Stylish and sleek enough for daily wear, not just trail use. What you can’t see is the comfort; these are BY FAR the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever worn. Not even close. The design allows for conventional use while looking great on the feet. Overall, very happy with them. FITS TRUE TO SIZE
I love the Nike WILDHORSE 10! Such a superb feel, look, and sturdiness! I love when Nike comes out a shoe like this that’s meant for Trail walking or Running but it turns out to be so much more! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this shoe! Must have! I have multiple pairs in different colors
Second pair of Wildhorse 10 I’ve ordered. Have to be the comfiest, most supportive trainer I’ve ever owned. Perfect true to size fit and nice and wide for us big footed people (size 12). Could well be ordering a third pair.
These are a joy to wear, I love the comfort of the ReactX foam insole and the ATC outsole for grip on various terrain, I was already a big fan of the Wildhorse 8 and this a significant improvement to an already great shoe. Also, love the colorway.
