I have been outdoor camping for over 35 years and I can confirm after using just about every camping stove the JetBoil Flash 1.0l outperforms anything I have every used. Kayaking through the Broken Islands is a game changer with the JetBoil. Notice in the background even the deer came out to see the JetBoil
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great setup for a simple lightweight quick boil option for backpacking or light car camping travel. Functions as well as many priced higher. The issue before was a real crummy ignitor that many complained about and for good reason - mine broke before the end of the first trip I used it on out of the box. Returned and got the new setup with an ignitor that is incased now and not exposed as the original model. Would have given 5 stars but the cheap plastic lid is the next upgrade for this item that needs to happen. Put a sturdy lid on there where you are also not pouring hot beverages through a plastic surface - enough with the microplastics already!!!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used this to make warm drinks while ice climbing in frigid Minnesota temps. I liked how easy this was to assemble with gloves on. The pot locks in securely into the burner. The turn and click ignition was nice because I did not have to take my gloves off to fumble with a lighter. In 5 degree weather it took about three minutes to boil 2 cups of water. I think this is because the pot was so cold to begin with. The lid made it easy to pour the water into my mug. Taking this apart was easy with the colored grip zone, no burning my hands. I highly recommend the Flash 1.0 for your water heating needs on the trail and on your next outdoor adventure. Jetboil gave me this free product to try.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had a great experience with the fast boil so far. I do a lot of solo hiking and couple backpacking with my GF. The stove checks all of the boxes that we would need to boil water for (coffee, hot toddies, dehydrated meals). I could see some campers be a little limited if you are actually needing a pot/pan to cook then this may not be what I throw in the bag for a longer trip. at 5k feet (inside) I was able to boil a cup of water in about 50 seconds. At 9k feet (in some wind and 20 degrees) it took about 2 minutes to bring to a boil. This is still fast especially with the wind dynamic. I was also also able to set up, use the built in igniter and pour without taking my gloves off which was a nice plus.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve been wanting one of these since seeing them used by the skippers in the Vendee Globe Ocean Race. Paired it up with the Hanging Kit to use on my sailboat. Perfect system for cooking while anchored in rolling waters.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This thing rocks. We tested this thing at around 10,000 ft in the Sawtooths and were super happy with 1. how quickly it melted water 2. The new self ignition feature that is reliable and works in the wind 3. fuel efficiency. This thing is pretty unbeatable for just about every backcountry mission you throw at it. If you plan on making gourmet meals this probably won't be the best but the functionality makes it worth every extra gram you might save with an MSR pocket rocket or so on. -Jetboil gave me this product free of charge but I am not being paid to advertise
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've used my old Jetboil Flash for about a decade, and I've loved it. It still functions well. the ignitor takes multiple cycles to ignite, or sometimes needs help from a lighter, but otherwise it functions well. this new flash has a lot of adjustments that I enjoyed and felt like it enhanced the experience. 1. Boil time with water at max fill took 2 min 32 seconds 2. Single ignite cycle to light even after being wet from a creek crossing 3. Does not work with all of my old accessories or cups (slightly smaller diameter) 4. cup lid design much improved Jetboil gave me this free product to try. Things i like about the new flash 1.0 - Ignitor system - Flow control - Gas canister stand stowage - Base protective cover connection feels very secure
I live in Alaska and spend a lot of time on backpacking hunts where weight and convenience make a difference. This is light weight, heats water extremely fast and easy to use in the mountains or on a trail. Combine this with freeze dried food and you have everything you need for any trip. I’ve even used it to boil water, pour into Nalgene to give me extra heat in my sleeping bag. This thing also helped save me on a couple goat hunting trips that went bad, both for warmth and food on the side of a mountain. They are the best!
I was skeptical at first if it was really worth buying a Jetboil when I could find cheaper backpacking stoves elsewhere. But, I am so glad I sent it on the Jetboil anyway. Took it on a quick overnight backpacking trip to heat up some water for oatmeal and a freeze dried meal and it did not dissapoint. It was easy to set up, boiled the water super fast, and it packs up so nicely. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for a backpacking stove!
Tough, lightweight & does everything it says it does. We use this for every meal prep when camping & hiking. Extremely user friendly & heats up incredibly fast. The burner was not affect by windy conditions and the boiling water was ready before we could prep the food we needed it for. It also proved useful at home during a power outage. We had freeze dried meals & our jetboil to make it happen. This is an indispensable tool.
