I sure hope they last
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I sure hope they last longer than the last pair I had 6 months out of them
Almost the same as before, just smaller
I bought these 3 years ago and wore them daily for everything. Best shoes ever, Warm, waterproof. I live in Alaska and walk to work. Also, I work in medicine and get stuff on my shoes sometimes. My replacements arrived today. A little tight so I compared the 2 pairs. New pair is 1/4 inch shorter and 1/4 inch narrower than the old pair. This in the soles not the tops which I realize can stretch and change but the soles shouldn't and neither have my feet. I have a hard time fitting in anything from China. Its like the Chinese say," Ain't nobody got feet that big, must be a mistake. Lets fudge on the smaller size." I hope Keen isn't getting scammed.
Comfy and warm; not too warm
I bought these to wear for work in the east coast freeze/snow we had a few weeks back. The shoes are very comfortable and at least for me did not require any break in. Even with thin dress socks, they indeed are warm. I also wore them with jeans and thicker athletic socks, and they are still comfy and not too warm. Then we had the February thaw with rain and warmer temps in the 70s! Still, they are not too warm. I think I can wear these easily into May, maybe even in heat of summer, too. I like how easy it is to slip them on and the comfort. The leather has been holding up well in the snow and rain. Very comfortable, casual shoes.
Upper protrudes too far into front of ankle
I like everything about this shoe EXCEPT the upper, which would normally be the tip of the tongue in a shoe that had a tongue, protrudes too far toward my ankle and cuts into my ankle, so I'm disappointed that these just won't work for me. These look good, have a wide & comfy toe box, have great tread and were fairly priced. I wish they had not been a source of discomfort on the front on my ankle.
only shoe needed
Been buying these for 5 years now. It is the only shoe I wear. Wear them to work, wear them for chores, wear them to work or play in the woods, all types of terrain, hike in them for miles and miles, etc etc. The perfect shoe. They last about a year of daily hard use which is pretty good. The last two pairs have had stitching failures after about 10 months of my use. Also, since they are slip-ons the material on the cuff of the heel wears out quick, even using a shoe horn to put on. (maybe Kevlar on the cuff would help) I will keep buying them, but those are the two consistent problems I see with daily use.
Disappointing
I wanted to like this shoe. I really did. But it disappointed in several respects. I bought it to replace Merrell Jungle Mocs I had used for years. I wear Keen Targhees every day for long walks with my dog. So after switching from Merrells to Keen for everything else, I switched to the Brixten as a slip on for quick trips outside. The pros: great tread for snow/winter, and waterproof. The cons - several. It's difficult to slip on - I have to use a shoe horn. It's heavy and clunky and stiff and it's not easy to walk in.. The lining on the back tore and wore out quickly, but, Keen being Keen, they honored the warranty and offered a replacement. I'm sticking with Keen, but switching to the Targhee slip on.

So tough to rate these...
Excellent quality and design. I love Keen, but this low boot is so large around the ankle, you need to be a Yeti for them to fit. My feet fit perfectly from heel to toe, and though these are extremely wide, they fit me with some spare room, but comfortably. However, I just can't get them to stay on my feet. Even with thick, padded Smartwool socks on, the opening in the shoe and the immediate area over the top of your foot (tongue?) is so large, I can easily place my hand in between my foot and the shoe without pressure. Hopefully they will consider doing these in a lace up...
Size 14 feels “Herman Muenster-ish” -🤷🏽♂️
I have big feet. Not LeBron James or Shaq- size but for most guys I’m a “BIG FOOT”. Shoes on a display rack, always “look” different when they come outta the box. Proportion-wise, the way I feel with these Brixen’s on my feet, is taking me a while to get adjusted to. Especially, when I switch to my ALLBIRDS, which weigh much less. I’ve worn Keens sandals and Slip-on shoes b4, it’s just that these shoes seem extremely “Impactful”, when I walk down a Steel-Tread Spiral Staircase- or stride through a Parkinglot. I’ve yet to experience my Brixen’s in a more rugged terrain.
Best shoe must buy

Comfortable Keen casual shoes
I wanted a pair of casual slip ons to replace my too casual looking tennis shoes. I'd not tried Keen slip ons before but these looked really nice and were priced right for Keen quality (I have had Keen boots for years and will not buy any other brand until Keen starts having quality problems.) The only problem I have is that the slip ons will need to be broken in before they are as easy to slip on as I would appreciate. I wear orthodics in my shoes and these accomodat them just fine. They are also nice and comfortable with no heel rub that some slips on have.
