Vigor Pullover Replaced my R1

I must say, I never thought I'd replace my R1 as I've had two. I took a shot on this because there was no zipper when in Balaclava mode. I live in this now! I'm 6'0, 175# and went with a Medium, I wanted to make sure it was form fitting and it is excellent. I'll be wearing this as long as weather allows.

Mostly Great

Overall I like the product a lot. The jacket is breathable, decently warm, soft and I like the way it looks and fits. The only significant negative with this jacket is the hood. With a jacket like this I don't see a need for a face covering. If you are cold enough to need a face covering, you are going to be using this as a mid layer anyway. Unfortunately scrunching the face mask under you chin is moderately uncomfortable. The hood would be perfect without the face covering. The zippered version might fix this issue. The jacket does fit fairly tightly and it can be difficult to get on and off. This is not an issue for me, but it may be for other people. Wider people will likely need to size up.

Fit is almost too perfect - multiple sizes for multiple uses

Very cozy piece of gear! Know that with the slim fit it runs a bit snug. I'm normally a medium in OR stuff but should have gotten a large to wear this more casually/comfortably with a shirt underneath. This will be perfect for runs/as a base layer but I would want next size up to wear around town/around the house However the fleece is very soft and with no zippers on my skin it is comfortable to wear directly on skin It would be great to see a standard/casual fit to this instead of slim fit only because if I went to a large the sleeves would have been way too long

Love this thing

I'm not one to write reviews but I like mine so much that I bought a second one, which also isn't something I normally do. I saw some other reviews complaining about the fit, which is relatively tight, but for me that's one of its advantages. There's plenty of other fleece sweaters and jackets are more loose fitting. I live in Colorado and run year round and this is very comfortable and warm in colder weather, and the fact that it's not too loose feels great while running. I also recently did some winter ascents up a couple of easier 14ers and this was my go-to with just a merino wool t-shirt under it and a light insulating or hard shell layer over it depending on how cold/windy it was. The hood with integrated buff thing is great in windy conditions.

It's a good piece but could be great

Pros: great fabric, good weight, excellent hood and face cover, great little pocket and thumb loops. Cons: could be longer on the hem and more grippy to keep it down, I'd actually like a bit roomier fit as it seems to bunch up around my chest. Without any ventilation it's a cold weather piece for me anytime it's 50 deg. or more I would over heat , but I run hot. Conclusion: I'm super happy to have it, would like a slightly more roomier fit throughout and some more colors would ensure I had another in the rotation.

Good, but not as warm as I thought

I’m fairly impressed with this hoodie, but it’s not as warm as I thought it would be and it’s awkward if you want the hood up, but not the balaclava; there’s really no comfortable way to wear the hood without the face mask portion up as well. I figured it would be very well insulated having an attached balaclava. It is quite thin and doesn’t insulate very well in the wind, but it’s pretty warm in 50-60 degree weather with no wind. I’ve used this several times skiing, snowmobiling and just when running around. It’s my new go to hoodie and acts as a decent base layer or even mid-layer as well when worn under a shell. I would recommend this hoodie in cool to slightly cold weather, but nothing under 45-50 degrees by itself with no wind. It’s a good overall hoodie and a good daily layer.

Weird fit; not for bigger arms or narrower shoulders / lats

I wanted to love the Vigor Grid Fleece Pullover, but unfortunately I had to return it. The grid fleece material is comfortable and warm yet light and breathable enough for high output activities. The sleeve length is excellent (I find other brands' sleeves to often run too long). I also really like the hood shape and size. As other reviews point out, the arms are snug, which can be a drawback if you have bigger arms. The chest / side seams are the deal-breaker for me. The pullover has stiff seams that intersect with the chest in front of the armpit and run down the length of the garment. However, on someone with narrower shoulders / lats, the seam placement and construction cause the seams to fight back against arm movement, totally negating any benefits of the stretch material. Raising my arms above my head, for instance, caused the pullover to lift up above my belly.

Love it as a base layer for skiing

I am 5'10" and 160lbs and medium fits well. It is perfect snug level to fit under a lightweight down jacket and shell ski jacket in CO. It is more snug than I would want for an everyday shirt, which is maybe why some didn't like this? The hood and neck keeps me warm without choking me. It is super comfortable. I would recommend it.

Buying Again For Friends & Family

I love this perfect fitting fleece pullover...it's my go to hiking shirt/first layer. It's ideal for fall hiking in the Cascades...and I chose the bright orange color for great pictures. This is super warm too. I was so impressed with this hoodie, I will be buying for friends and family for Christmas.

The medium provides the snug fit I was looking for. I'm 6'2, weigh 187 lb and wear a 16.5 34/35 dress shirt. The hood fits well, not too tight, even with the bottom pulled down under my chin. I wear a large ski helmet. It comes down over the hip and could be a little longer. Great with a bib.
