My husband has wide feet and is normally a 10, but I got him a 10.5 and these fit perfect! They seem very well made and are very breathable. Great for outdoor activities. Traction is great in dirt, sand, and rocks, but unfortunately, not on ice. Didn't see the ice and slipped and fell immediately. Other than that, these are amazing hiking shoes! HIGHLY recommend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really like the look and concept of these, and they seem like they have the water proofing and traction promised, but I didn’t actually take the out hiking because they didn’t fit me well enough. They were about a half size too big on me, and there weren’t any extra holes to bring the laces up higher for more ankle support, which I need due to an old injury, so they won’t work out for me.

I’ve used these shoes for a couple months and they are great following my ankle replacement on one foot and a stress fracture on the other. I wanted a cushioned shoe on a fairly stiff platform to keep my mid sole from flexing too much. My keen sandals were very comfortable so I decided to try these. They’ve been just what I needed with the added value of being waterproof so far. I have used them daily and was able to walk 3 miles of rocky coast beach in rain with dry feet and no injuries shortly after I was able to advance to weight bearing and regular shoes in my ankle replacement recovery.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My husband loves going on walks and hikes so he was excited to recieve them and try them out he says these are the most comfortable shoes ever there great for hikes and walks they don’t get your feet tired there very comfy they look and feel very durable he says they feel high quality the fit is just right so tire to size there very breathable he said also because he didn’t feel he’s feet get sticky after the long hike the traction of movement is just right and the comfort of each step also the part he loved was that it’s waterproof and that’s a plus he highly recommends if your looking for hiking and walking shoes

For reasons that are irrelevant to this Review, I wanted a pair of hiking shoes with "natural" rubber soles. What IS relevant to this review is that I weigh about 240 pounds. I tried on this model and the Hightrail Mesh model in the REI Gainesville Store. This model just felt more substantial under my forefoot than the Mesh model; so I went with this model. I suppose someone much lighter would appreciate the feather weight of the Mesh model; but I needed a shoe that could handle my weight. I did not factor in the Waterproof "feature" of this model, FWIW. Highly recommend to you; especially if you are "Chunky" like me.

Lately we have been having winter weather with lots of ice and mud, and he says that they have excellent traction/grip. They are waterproof and extremely durable. I find that they are easy to clean as well, and have stayed in great shape although he has worn them almost the entire winter season! The sizing runs true to size. He reports that they are very comfortable and did not need breaking in!

The sole is designed to have good grip, works well on many terrains, providing grip and stability. The size is a bit smaller than the regular size. I also searched for other types but can't seem to find an extra wide size, which is a pity. But overall these shoes are good for a long hike.
