Yes, the reviews are correct, they run big, so I tried them on in the store. I normally wear a medium (5'10, 150 lbs, 32 waist) and a size Small fits like a medium. Get the correct size and you will be rewarded with maybe the most comfortable sweatpants you have ever worn. I know they are for me! The weight/thickness is absolutely perfect, the fit (once you get the right size) isn't too baggy nor too tight. For reference, I have the Duluth sweats that have the zipper fly. Those runs large as well (their sizing is way off on those) but they are a bit heavier and thicker and feel more weighty; like, I wouldn't run in those. I also have the Fruit of Loom 60/40 cotton poly ones, the $7 ones you can get. Those are thinner, run a little baggy and have that stupid single loop tie which I hate. I also have the Jockey ones. Those are comfy and fit well, but they feel like sleeppants a bit more than sweatpants. The fleece also sheds like crazy with any sweat. The REI ones have zero shedding, are midweight, perfect for everyday wear or going out on cold weather runs. They wash well, no shrinkage and no pilling. I bought both colors and am debating on ordering a backup pair as these are discontinued. I highly recommend getting these while they are available, just remember to size down.

I recently purchased 2 pair of REI brand sweat pants. I use wear them when I Iounge around my house in the early mornings and for my gym workouts in the afternoons. They are very comfortable and they look nice. I like wearing them.

The sweatpants are of good quality and feel good next to the skin. They run big in the waist. I am generally wear a large, but even in a medium the waist runs large, and have to cinch the waist cord tightly to garner a secure fit.

The elastic waistband on these is very weak. There are two very long drawstring cords that sit on the outside that need to be tied or else they'd look silly dangling in front of your legs. Between the very weak elastic and the fact that they'll need to be tied / untied every time you want to take them off was enough for me to send them back. I have 4 year old sweats from Russell that have a rock solid waistband that still have great elastic to this day. Expected more for almost $60 sweats (the Russells are $18)....

The pants themselves are really comfortable. Sized very large, which is unfortunate because the waist band is the part that limits these to two stars. As other reviews have stated, there is essentially no “squeeze” to the waist band, so they require tying with the non stretching cord to stay up. I am a 32x32, 6ft tall, and 170lbs and the mediums fall off of me unless I tie them tightly. I’m going to put in some of my own elastic so I can keep them, but I shouldn’t have to. They are sweatpants…how’d you guys mess up super basic leisure pants?

Comfy and great for when i am working from home.

After wearing an older pair of Rei sweat pants for years I finally bought a new pair. I really like how these can be tied around the waist. My last pair from Rei had an elastic cinch cord that always loosened as I wore them. These have no zippers but the pockets are deep. The elastic ankle cuff is pretty wide I could probably slip them over sneakers. All in all the quality is just like my 6 year old pair but brand new and super fuzzy. Really like the new colors as well

You hear so much about fast fashion these days, how it isn’t worth the money you spend because it is made so cheaply. That is not the case here. These are very sturdy and amazingly comfortable. Need I say more? I don’t think so.
