Buckles are shredding straps
Something about the buckles on these is off. The teeth of the buckles seem to be shredding the webbing of the straps. Otherwise, I like the sandals. Lighter than my regular Chacos, better for everyday wear. Dunno how long it will be until the straps get entirely chewed through. I contacted REI a couple weeks ago, still waiting to hear back.
fell apart in one day
These are the worst product I have ever purchased. The strap failed in less than a day. Absolutely worthless.
Not suitable for outdoor use
As owner of 6 pairs of Chaco Z-1 sandals, one gets accustomed to the heft of the sole and the protection it provides. This model has thin straps that feel flimsy that are attached to soles that are measurably lighter. While this model is 266 grams, my other pairs -same size- Chacos measure 406 grams.
