horrible REI customer service
Bought the bag from the store. It was a display. No packaging. Found the bag was ripped after a trip to a grocery store. Unclear if the product was already damaged at purchase. Attempted to return within 30 days. The lady at return counter said product is not returnable if it’s ripped after walked out of the store!?? Is that REI return policy? Unbelievable! I feel that I am being bullied. Then she’s like I am returning it this time but I put a note in your account. WHAT? Am I red flagged to be a bad citizen for returning a defected product from REI? They didn’t tell me this when selling me the membership, rather I was told a 365 day return policy. I had seen people return used dirty stuff! The bag I am returning was literally new except it’s ripped on the bag itself. This is a completely different culture I had experienced with REI! I am so disappointed! Won’t shop there ever again! And I want my membership fee back!
