These were my first Xero shoes -- I loved how light-weight they are and the overall quality construction. My foot is between size 9 and 9 1/2 and the Xero size 9 worked. I tried a few yoga poses and found my foot was well engaged by not being overpadded or restricted. Also. If your foot leans to narrow or low volume (low instep), these work, in fact if your foot leans wide, I'd say these will be too tight for you. The excellent tred of the soles is quite grippy so that is also great. The upper lace clips easily let you tie the laces at the desired tightness. The boot is modern and aesthetic. What isn't so great: The boot tongue is not very wide, and even though lightly padded, the interior side of the hard upper lace clips may be felt against the ankle-- the boot tongue can provide more padding against these but there isn't much tongue to go around; not lacing the boot tightly at the top helps with this. For a "barefoot boot" I was surprised that the toe box wasn't wider -- it was adequate for me, but again, my foot is on the narrow and shallow side. The main thing I did not like was my feet baked inside these boots. The supposedly breathable upper -- so tightly woven that calling it "mesh" seems dubious -- is surrounded and crossed over by nonbreathable materials. Because of the positive factors, I may decide to keep and use in colder weather.
