Wrong size, drips sweat, but comfortable
I like Fox products, and bought this because it had a great rating through Virginia Tech. I used their measuring guide and ordered a Large. It was huge on my head. I returned it for a medium, which fit perfect. The straps were easy to manipulate to get the helmet level on my head. On the trail, it was snug and was great. Until I started sweating. There is no padding or anything to stop the sweat from dripping down. I had to stop every 15-20 minutes, remove my glasses, and wipe sweat out of my eyes. If it weren't for the sweat hassle, it would have been a four and a half start (still wrong size)
Just Awesome !!
I was looking for a new helmet and tried this on and it fit like a glove ! It’s so lightweight I couldn’t tell it was on while riding and the visor helped out tremendously! If you are looking for lightweight, great fit , great price look no further!
Just OK?
To put it simply, I think the SpeedFrame is just OK. I liked the relatively inexpensive price, so maybe I am expecting a bit too much, but my old helmet seems better in all aspects except its not MIPS, so it had to go. My number one issue with the SpeedFrame is sweat management. Sweat just pours down the front of my face and into my eyes when using this helmet. Others seem to direct sweat around, but the Fox people didn't seem to plan for that. I've been stopping to squish sweat out of the helmet before technical downhills which is annoying. The padding is pretty thin, and the fit is such that I can definitely feel bare plastic against my head. Combine that with not much venting and its a hot helmet. That said, I have a lot of confidence that it provides a great level of protection, and for that it gets a solid 3 stars. I like the straps and the adjustments work well. The visor seems pretty useless at blocking sun, but they all seem like that lately. Bottom line? I'll keep using it but haven't stopped looking for something better.
Saved my brain.
Wrecked at 25mph on concrete on my personal off road scooter, saved my face and only a minor concussion. Helmet warped, but did its job. Had the fox mountain bike gloves which saved the road rash on the hands too. Arms not so lucky. Good buy.
Saved my brain
Went flying over my handlebars and landed on my head on gravel. I slid on the gravel for a couple feet and this helmet protected my face. This helmet saved me from very serious injury. Will be re-purchasing to replace broken helmet.
