Barrage 22L for Life!

Literally for life. I had my original 22L with a manufacture date of 2013, purchased I believe in 2014. Exterior is weather beat, but it wears age well. All buckles and straps in great condition. Welded interior has seen better days and laptop pouch ripped at bottom, all this within the last year. It's been used as a cooler, dry bag, salty camping/fishing/boating, and through bike crashes It's lasted. I submitted a warranty request and Chrome said they'd replace it no questions asked. That lifetime warranty isn't a joke and because of it, they have a lifetime customer.

Daily Commuter

I’ve been wearing this bag everyday for two years, at least 5 days a week. I live in Oregon and the Fall / Winter can be quite wet or snowy. I have never had a problem with this bag, it keeps everything dry on a downpour. The under part of the bag has extra top sail material to protect from the constant stream of water coming off the rear tire when raining. It’s comfortable, and the newer version is much lighter than before. Recently I had some stitching come undone on the original bag I bought in 2022. The warranty process was super easy and I had a new updated bag within the week ( 2024 model). The photo I took also demonstrates how reflective the bag is, first with flash, second without. Would recommend as one of the most water proof durable bags out there! Super happy :)

A perfect backpack! Bought mine in 2013.

I bought my backpack in the summer of 2013. I've used this as my daily backpack since. I've used it for day hikes, school, work, etc. I don't know how the quality is now, because mine doesn't look like these new ones. The models from 2013 are superb! Still holds up and I've never had to repair anything. I think the pictures shows how good the quality is, mine is 11 years old now and i can use it for many years to come!

Inside is too narrow

Oh, I was so bummed when I received this bag! The outside is great, and I really like the cargo net, but the inside was basically unusable for my purposes. I was looking for a commuting bag that would fit my laptop, gym clothes, my lunch and a few tech accessories The inside of the bag is so narrow that I couldn't even fit a small Tupperwear container inside once my laptop was in. The interior also has so much loose material that I was convinced that there had to be a way to expand it all, but I just couldn't make it work. It really almost seems like a manufacturing defect? At any rate, I tried and failed to pack my bag for a day of work, so I returned this backpack.

Another banger!

Got bag as a replacement for a 2013 version of the Barrage. While I loved the old bag, it was time for a replacement. I love the new outer material and the small pocket on the from of the bag is a great new addition! My very minor gripes with the new version is that the water bottle/side pockets don't have drainage holes so a frosty bottle may collect water...also I loved having access to the space between the inner and outer linings ...for secret stashes...All in all, a great addition to my Chrome collection and while I shouldn't have to buy a new bag anytime soon. My next bag will definitely be a Chrome

Chrome lies about lifetime warranty

I bought this bag back in 2021. Earlier this year, the clip broke, which has happened to multiple people I know that own this bag. Subsequently, because I could not secure the strap, it got caught and tore off the bag. I did not ask for a new bag- simply to repair the bag I had. But chrome industries refused stating "Thanks for following up on your strap issue. We are unable to offer a repair. We recommend hitting up a local tailor, gear or luggage repair shop for assistance with a repair. You can also use an outdoor gear repair specialist like Rainy Pass Repair in Seattle, WA. They accept mailed repairs and give quotes by email." If you are going to offer lifetime warranties, maybe don't lie about it? This was not normal wear and tear. The bag was 4 years old (not a lifetime if you ask me). I am rapidly spreading the word for my pals to switch back to ortlieb/cotopaxi.

My all day cargo

I love the backpack. It’s durable and made with quality materials. It has a great style and design that makes it look spectacular and urban. I use it for my photography gear, books, and other items I carry daily like my headphones—and I still have room to spare. I even managed to fit my full-face motorcycle helmet in the outer mesh compartment, and it’s amazing.

THE Backpack

It’s taken me several years and a few different backpacks to finally find this one, by far the best of the lot. I had an L.L. Bean Rusack. that was fine. It was very large, but well-made. However, ergonomically it was not fantastic, and the inside was just a massive cavern. If it had suited my needs, I’m sure it would be just fine. Then I tried a waterproof motorcycle roll top pack from Heretic Cycles. it broke in less than a year with stitching coming undone, was very stiff and awkward and just not a great fit. This backpack is the ideal size, extremely well-made, smartly designed, and super comfortable. It has just enough pockets to stay organized without being a magician’s closet. As the other reviews say, the build quality is obvious from the moment you unpack it. I have a feeling this will be THE backpack I’ll have for many years to come. It fits a ton but still feels fairly compact. It’s just ideal. Highly recommended.

The perfect commuter bag

I use this bag as a daily commuter on my bike or the bus. It keeps my stuff nice and dry and the cargo net is a game changer when I have to stop at the store on my way home from work to grab something. Best bag I have ever owned

Great all around bag.

Fantastic bag. I got this for daily bike commuting, and it has become my go-to bag for anything!. The bag is comfortable on the back, less sweaty than my old Targus bookbag that did me well for about 10 years until it broke. The Barrage is also fantastic at keeping the elements at bay with the quality materials. Additionally I was drawn to the bag for the cargo net, I thought it looked so cool. I absolutely love this feature. It is stylish (maybe not everyone's style) but more importantly it is functional. It has come in handy on many occasions to slip an extra item, or a weird shaped item in my bag no problem. It also keeps the bag snug when not in use so the bag is compact and securing items on a light load.
