Super versatile/Not as warm as I hoped
I wanted these as a catch-all boot for winter in the city: rain, mud, mild snow, grocery shopping, church, school pick-up - basically so I could be inside or outside without having to be wearing clunky boots. I love the design and how easy they are to slip on or off. They are rated at -4 degrees, but I wore them sitting outside when it was around 35 degrees, and my feet were cold. I am usually a cold person, so I will wear them with heavier socks next time. I love these boots and highly recommend them for their versatility, but just want to give a heads up that they might not live up to their -4 rating unless you're walking to stay warm.
Feminine Waterproof Boot...would buy again
These were exactly what I was looking for! Thanks Bogs! It's a touch on the feminine side for a rubber boot with flexibility, not big, bulky and stiff. It's probably not the best boot for tredging mud but if you're looking for a good wet weather boot, this is it! And you won't look like you're headed out for a bear hunt, or walk on the moon. I love mine! **I haven't worn them in freezing cold temps or in snow so I can't review how warm they are. I'm skeptical that they will be super warm if walking on snow but will soon find out as I plan to take them to CO. I'll pair them with a Merino wool socks. Purchased my original size and they fit like a glove!
Sweet boot
This is my second pair of Bogs Sweetpea Winter Chelsea boots. They are warm and very comfortable. I originally bought a black pair after having a hip replaced and needing a shoe that was easy to get on and off. I liked them so well I decided to get them in the sage green. They are very stylish and look great with jeans and skirts. I have always liked Bogs because they are waterproof and easy to keep clean. Fit is perfect, buy your regular size. A heavy sock might require a half size larger for some, but because the boot is a softer material I don't think it is necessary. Just a very cute boot at a very reasonable price!
Size runs a bit small
I give these 4 stars only because I think the size runs a little small. I'm always a solid size 9, normal width, and have only worn a 9.5 twice in my life. These boots in a size 9 are just a little snug, short and narrow. I wear only normal thickness or even thin socks, I couldn't even begin to wear thick socks. My feet feel a bit cold, and I think it could be because of the snugness of the boot. Other than the fit, I totally love the boots. They look great, are nice and sturdy, seem well made and are waterproof. Just wish I had a size 9.5 in this particular boot. But I only see whole sizes offered.
Very cute!
Very cute and comfortable. They are easy to clean too. Not good for long distances; you would have to add inserts.
Good boot after switching insole
This boot is warm and waterproof, which is exactly what I needed to an everyday winter boot. With the insole it came with, the boot felt narrow and like my feet were spilling over the sides a bit. I switched the insole out for one I bought from Vionic, and it made all the difference. Boot width feels great now! I will say that the back of the boot rubs against my ankle sometimes in an uncomfortable but this is easily fixed by wearing the correct socks. Would recommend this boot, but know it's not perfect out of the box for some.
Haven't tested in rain yet BUT: super cute and comfortable
I live in Seattle, and it rains about 5 months out of the year here. I wanted a lot out of whatever boot I chose. It needs to be cute and versatile enough to let me slog to and from work and school in any outfit, comfortable enough for me to walk miles in, insulated so my toes don't drop off, and be sized to accommodate my slightly-wide feet. So far, these are perfect! I'm hoping to update my review this winter once I'm wearing these daily, but I'm very happy with my purchase.
Adorable and functional.... with some major flaws
I love the style and features of this boot. I ordered up due to no half sizes and they were too big - but also way too narrow. Really wish bogs would offer more than one width. Another con - they are cut 1 to 2" too low. So they sit awkwardly with almost all pants, leggings, etc., they cut into your ankle funny, and they also are a little too low to keep out even basic parking lot slush or other snow and rain.
poor quality compared to the Bogs mid high boot
I have a pair of Bogs mid high pull on boots. I bought these because I thought that they would be like the other pair but shorter. Other pair easy to pull on. Not these. The top rim of these appears unfinished and they are difficult to pull on because of the lack of rigidity in the boot top edges. Also the back strap pull on is light and cheap and is already pulling apart. Would not recommend these.
Not built for work. Sole separation in both pairs
Second pair, first pair have separated from the sole...i wore them every day and thought maybe I overused them. Second pair are insulated, have had them about a month and this morning I see the sole separating again! After such a short time. I'm unhappy and will not buy them again. Will try repairing with a product called Shoe-goo. I'm a gardener and wear them doing wet morning garden tasks.
