Pack seems very stout and definitely designed with security in mind. Pack doesn’t have that many storage pouches as the Northface pack that it is replacing. No waist belt. The RFID shielded pouch is so small that I need to remove the protective case on my iPhone for it to go in. It really needs to be bigger to accommodate a phone, passport and some credit cards.
I bought on a bit of a "whim" in the REI store and was very impressed on my recent trip to Alaska with it. I have a bit of "Anxiety" when it comes to security - especially when traveling. The Pacsafe has some neat security features that would like not fully "stop" anyone from getting into your back, but it would almost certainly slow them down - and hopefully enough for them to want to pick a different bag. I liked the size also. I did wish it had a few more pockets, but I like the ones that it does have. My wife also says it looks much better for traveling than my Briggs and Riley - lol.
