I recently picked up the Cotopaxi Impermeo 3L Hooded Shell Jacket in Men’s Large, and it’s been great so far. The fit is true to size, roomy enough for a light layer underneath but not baggy. I’ve worn it during several summer rainstorms here in Florida, and it does a solid job keeping my upper body dry. The material feels lightweight and breathable, which is perfect for humid conditions, and the hood provides good coverage without limiting visibility. Overall, it’s a dependable shell for wet weather and worth the investment if you need a rain jacket that performs well in a warm climate.
being a "shell" jacket, you expect some room for layers underneath. I wanted some extra wiggle room, so i got a Large instead of usual Medium. However, I really had to guess at this because the closest to any measurements i could find was "regular fit" and descriptions of the models (but that only applies to Medium in this case). . . even here, having to select "Runs large" could be confusing TO YOU, dear reader. good luck! regarding the jacket itself, it's great. comfortable and keeps warm. haven't been in the rain yet, but i'm sure i will.
The Impermeo is amazing in every facet. Given, I haven't worn it for that long, but it is soooooo comfortable. I love the stretch, the pockets, and especially the pit zips. Every detail was well executed and planned out on this jacket. Love that the hood is huge like many others and fits really well and secure when you need it to be. It packs down small, is lightweight, and again, super comfortable. A small exception and recommendation would be to add drop pockets on the inside.
I have had my new 3L rain jacket for a few weeks and recently was able to try it out. We recently had some wet snow and rain here in the northeast. This jacket worked great keeping me dry. It did great at blocking wind as well. I like that it can be packed into its own pocket and I can bring it to work with me. I work outside most all the time and this jacket comes with me every day. I’m 6’ and 150lbs and a medium fits great.
It hasn't rained much since I got the jacket, so I can't speak to the waterproofness of it. However, it looks great and is pretty comfy. The fabric is light and soft. The fit is just a bit weird for me. The collar pops up in front of my mouth a bit too much when the hoot is down, and it feels a bit too snug across the chest and overly roomy around the stomach. I'm 5'11" and 175 lbs with a 31-in waist and ordered a medium.
Purchased this after trying on several waterproof shell jackets in various stores. Found this one to have the most comfortable material - not stiff or plastic like and fit me better than the competition. Feels breathable. Not yet worn in downpour so can’t speak to this aspect - but hoping what I’ve read in other reviews is true that it will stand up to its waterproof promise. Overall well satisfied.
I’ve gotten so many compliments when wearing this jacket. The color dynamic stands out anywhere you go with this on, but it isn’t always about the look. This jacket may look thin and like it won’t keep you warm but I was very inspired by how warm I was when wearing this. I believe great for any type of weather. 100% recommended in investing in a cotopaxi shell jacket :). You won’t be dissatisfied.
This jacket does exactly what I need it to, block out water. It fits nicely over my down jacket and keeps it dry. Only downside is it doesn’t block the wind too well so it’s hard to keep my hands in the pockets when it’s windy and cold out. I would still recommend it though as a good outer shell. I’ve already received compliments on it for the pattern and colors. Thanks for a great jacket!!
I have a plain blue shell that I use for hiking around and it does the job just fine. Glad to add this one in, not just for the looks but the extra pockets and zippers. Having that one pocket on the chest is clutch to be able to grab the phone or a snack easily, while keep the side pockets zipped up. Looking forward to putting it through it's paces this summer and into the winter
I haven’t bought a new rain jacket for 10+ years. I didn’t realize how much the material has changed over the years. No longer is the fabric stiff and sticky, this material is smooth and comfortable. I got a M and at 5’7, as a climber I tend to have a wide shoulders and chest, but at 165lbs it fits great. The hood also fits nicely over a climbing helmet.
