Lock Mechanism is Poor
Cable link system seems a good concept, but the actual locking mechanism was challenging to use and broke within a month. Additionally, the plastic tubing sleeve on the cable isn’t secured and slips, making it challenging to seat the cable in the lock and secure it. After I cut the sleeve shorter, this was resolved. A few uses later, and the lock would not unlock, leaving me stranded with my bike locked up. While the keys would no longer work, I was able to twist and pull the cable in such way that it eventually broke free (with my bare hands!) and I was able to retrieve my bike. The lock had less than 20 uses when this occurred
Worse than a lock
After 1 month it wouldn't unlock. The key just turned all of the way around. I called a locksmith who said the pins were broken, he used an angle grinder to cut through it in 20 seconds. I like the attempt at a new design, but it has some fatal flaws still.
truly terrible
I used it for six months without a problem, until the lock broke and my bike was locked outside of a target. In a panic, I checked the reviews and was inspired by the other reviews. I broke it off myself in 20 seconds. Can’t believe I debated buying an angle grinder.
REI won’t let you return it
Don’t know how to update the review but they said I can’t return it for “misuse” because I snapped it open lol. FYI to anyone, please don’t buy this
