The best lined shorts you will ever own!
I received these products for free from the REI Trailblazers sampling program in exchange for my honest review. I'm not lying when I say this but I spend more time in my Rhone shorts than any other piece of clothing I own. The shorts I wear every single day to bed aren't these exact shorts, but they are every bit as great. I bought them a couple years ago for hiking in the cascades, but they ended up with a promotion to pajamas. How many pairs of shorts have started their life meant for the outdoors? And ended up getting worn for 8 hours a day? Not many. I recently got into the lined shorts trend, but I have had problems finding some that work for me. I'm a bit larger standing at six foot three inches, and I weigh in at about two hundred pounds. While it's not difficult to find most other clothing, it is tough to find a pair of spandex shorts that don't end up at the top of my thighs after 30 seconds of walking, much less hiking. I don't know what magic dust was sprinkled into these shorts but they fit like a second pair of skin. The inner liner is tight on the skin but in a gentle way that doesn't leave marks while also being strong enough to stay put above the knee. The pockets are deep deep deep; I have no trouble with a large cellphone keys and a pocket knife. There are some inner thigh pockets between the liner and the shorts themselves, which most similar shorts also have. These small pockets are my only complaint about this product. If you look at the photos attached, you'll see that there are some stitching issues around the perimeter of the pocket. Now these aren't a massive problem since I don't really use them, but it is a pretty big issue When customers are paying the premium price for an overall premium product. For me, personally, it's not enough of a issue since you can't see it.And they aren't functional for me anyways, but that might be a problem if those stitches ever let go for someone who does use them. Overall, it's a very comfortable pair of shorts that I've worn multiple times since they showed up. They've gotten some time in the gym. They've gotten some time at home and they've gotten some time on a bike. Just like a good pair of clothing you forget you're wearing them, and they function perfectly every single time. Rhone it's a brand that I know that I can trust every single time and I recommend them highly. I very much recommend these shorts to anyone.
Great workout/run/casual shorts
This is the perfect short for a weight lifting/cardio split. I don’t normally like to lift in running shorts nor do I like to run in knee length baggy shorts. These shorts are the best of both worlds without sacrificing either functionality. Really like the feel of the fabric of these shorts and the liner is spot on. I normally don’t like shorts with a liner, but these are great. Cell phone pocket placement is perfect and at a slight angle so when you are squatting it stays out of the way. I have the size medium and at about 195lbs and 5’10” and they fit great. I normally wear a size L in t shirts and M in shorts.
First time trying Rhone - very impressed
This was my first experience with Rhone apparel, and I can confidently say I’m a fan of these shorts. I have worn them about a dozen times and washed about half that (one of the features is GoldFusion anti-odor technology, and after some higher intensity activities I can say it’s not just marketing), and they have held up with no signs of any wear and tear. I’m not an expert on the full range of their offerings, but these Pursuit lined shorts offer a good balance of comfort and style. I’ve mostly worn these at the gym and on some lower key mtb sessions, and the built-in liner provides great support without feeling restrictive – the material is lightweight, breathable, and wicks away any sweat effortlessly. I’m a fan of the 7” length – you could use these as a gym/running short, but the length and style is great for casual settings too. The waistband stays put during workouts, which is underrated, and there’s an option to swap the drawcord to the inside if you’re someone who prefers that. Aside from two standard pockets, the left side has an additional zippered pocket which is a great touch and good for stashing essential items without fear of them falling out. Inside on the liner are two more pouches which are about the size and shape to stash a mobile, etc. If you’re on the fence about trying Rhone, I highly recommend giving these shorts a shot.
Great athletic shorts!
Great shorts! These were great for working out and looking decent enough to go to the store after. A nice zippered pocket to keep my keys from falling out. It does have stretchy pockets on each leg in the liner, but you have to flash quite a bit of leg to make good use of them. Excellent quality would definitely recommend.
My Go-To Short for Every Pursuit ;)
These Shorts might just be Rhone’s best yet. The fit is perfect—snug where it needs to be, with just the right amount of stretch for comfort and mobility. Whether I’m hitting a long run, lifting at the gym, or just lounging, these shorts keep up without missing a beat. The liner is breathable and supportive, and the Asphalt color is clean, modern, and goes with everything. Pocket space is smartly designed, and nothing feels bulky. Rhone continues to prove they understand performance and style. These have become my default grab for training days—and honestly, everything in between. Bonus: They look sharp enough to pass as casual wear too ;)
Best Workout Shorts Around
I have tried every brand from LuLu to Ten Thousand. These are by far the best fit and feel around. Absolutely worth the money - I own them in their 3 staple colors.
Great replacement for the Mako short
Got these after they discontinued the Mako short that I've been wearing for years, so I'm going to be comparing the two. The fit and finish of these I'd say is slightly better, as the shorts perform just as well but seem a bit lighter and more flexible. The left side zipper pocket also got an upgrade and so far I like the new placement better. I do miss the Mako's phone sleeve that was inside of the main right pocket, as it was more convenient when wearing the shorts out and about, but the new sleeve on the liner of the Pursuit does keep the phone tighter to the body during a workout, so I'll take the trade-off. I also appreciate the new drawstring design, these are easier to tie/untie than the strings on the Mako, and it's nice having the choice of which side of the waistband to use them.
Great Running Shorts
I run regularly in Lulu Pace Breaker running shorts (both the original and new version) so that is my comparison. I like the feel of the Rhône shorts better in general as I think the material is more comfortable and the fit slightly better. At first, I thought the zip pocket seemed flimsy, but like the front location compared to the Pace Breaker which is on the back hip. I think the liner is slightly less breathable on the Rhône Pursuit shorts, but more comfortable as noted above.
Fantastic Shorts, Great Fit
I’m a size L in most brands, and these shorts fall right in line with that. Roomy enough, but an overall streamlined, athletic-feeling shape. The liner is extremely comfortable, and the outer material has a nice, soft, but sturdy feel to it. The only reason I gave 4 out of 5 stars is because I feel it’d be nice if these had a back pocket like the Versatility Pants, which I also own and love. Admittedly, this is a nitpick but it’s good to give some kind of constructive feedback :)
Overall great, 6'0, 250lbs
6'0, 250lbs - wide shoulders small waist, athletic build, Bought the XL and overall they fit and don't slide down when doing squats, material is comfortable. Would buy again. I may try to size down as they are a tad bit longer than I'd like and my only other ask is that the waistband had a "scrunch" factor to them so that they were a little tighter naturally vs. having to use the drawstrings. I was a Lululemon guy and these are much better fit and material.
