When you figure out sizing these are SWEET

I'm 5'10" and 145lbs and usually wear between a 2-6 depending on brand, and found these on clearance in an 8. Fit perfectly, with the wiggle room you'd want in a hiking pant. I actually think with that in mind the pocket placements are solid, and I love that the ankles cinch (the cinch itself is super subtle) and there's ripstop fabric on the knees/butt. It's a little funny that it's mesh behind the hip pockets - can give someone a look at you're chonies if you're wearing any (but who cares when you're in the woods). I also use these as sailing pants so the high waist is awesome for bending down all over but not giving anyone a show. Pumped on these things, but yeah that sizing is wild.

Thoughtfully Designed

Ignore the comments saying they’re too short or too long. These come in THREE different inseams. If the shortest one is too long or the longest one too shortcut, maybe you didn’t scroll all the way through the sizes to find the best fit for you. Or maybe you are on the extreme end of the normal fit! These trousers deserve five stars for thoughtful design, workmanship, and materials. I love the versatility and that the waist is adjustable—which happens to form a sideways loop to hang my axe :) Having said all this, I do agree that you might want to size up by two sizes, but check the waist measurements and go by that?

Great hiking pants but sizing is a bit off

Hiked a mountain with these pants. They provided warmth for the early morning but were still breathable enough when the weather warmed up. Also provide great wind protection. I really like the way the waist fits and how you can make it more snug or loosen it up. Because of the looser fit in the legs they are good for some minor rock scrambling, too. The fit is off as some other reviewers note. I'm normally a size 0 but sized up to a 2. I'm also on the shorter side and found that these pants are a bit shorter than normal.

Great hiking/climbing pants

These pants are very comfortable. I wear them hiking and climbing. The fabric is great for movement and very breathable. I love the snap button on the front and the ties on the waistband. A lot of the reviews talked about how they didn't like the mesh lining for the pockets but I haven't really minded them. The pockets are super deep too! I am usually either a size 0-2 short. I bought a 0 short and wish I would've sized up to the 2. Otherwise the 'short' length is perfect on me (I'm 5'2).

Decent hiking pants with some flaws

Beware, these pants have very high waist. Complete opposite of low rise, listed in the product description. I like the stretchy material and the adjustable waist. The thigh pockets at the front of the legs are not optimal when hiking and also when putting the pants on (you need to pay attention not to put your foot behind the mesh). Pockets on the side would be much better.

obsessed!

North Face nailed it! Such a cool style without compromising functionality and quality. I would agree with others, they do run about a size smaller.

Small pockets, small fit

The cut of these are weird. They are tight in the tights and waist. I don't mind that they sit high up, but they're very small in comparison to the other size 4 pants I have. Also, the pockets are way too small. I can barely fit my phone in the two main pockets. They're kind of useless for things I would want to carry hiking. Also, the way the lower pocket is designed, every time I go to put in my left leg, it gets caught on the inner lining of the pant pocket.

Sizing is way, WAY off!

I was so excited to see these pants offered in a long inseam, but they were still too short for me - I'm 5'9" (tall but not crazy tall), and the long was too short. Also, they were hilariously tight in the butt and thighs. I'm always between a 6-8. Ordered an 8 in these, and they were skin tight...I couldn't zip them. I would probably need a 12 to make them work. These pants have so much potential if TNF would just fix the sizing!

Great color for Safari

I agree with the other reviews that these pants are short. I'm 5'7" and they hit top of laces but that's fine for me. I also had to return my size 4 and size up to 6. But these pants are super cute and comfortable and I will be wearing on an upcoming Safari trip this month.

Could be so so so good.

These pants could be the best pants ever. As others have mentioned, they are too short and way too tight through the hips and upper thighs. Even sizing up two sizes from my normal, they were too tight.
