Not a good design
The T-shirt sizing is slightly roomy, most people for whom this type of shirt is intended can probably get away with one size down. The biggest issue is the material itself, 50% wool, 50% polyester, and ends up being quite scratchy if no layer is worn underneath. I guess the intent is to not wear any underlayer. The seams are especially scratchy, around the neck shoulder area, armpit, sides, waist. I put it on briefly and that was enough. I can imagine if one were doing any workout or biking, the sweat coupled with the scratchy material and seam threads, would not be very comfortable. It's going back and thanks for REI's return policy.
