For boots: Add one half size to your street shoe size. You should be able to slip one finger behind your heel when you are standing up with the boot unlaced and your toes touching the front. If the boot is too short, your toes will get smashed walking downhill. Too long and your heel will slide up and down and give you blisters.

The Prodigio Pro is an absolute game-changer. Whatever they did to the midsole … it’s working!! I’m stoked there’s no plate—I’m really not convinced they help on techy trails. The cushioning is some of the best I’ve ever run in—explosive, responsive, and propulsive. Every stride feels like I’m being pushed forward, and I’m pretty sure I’ll PB every time I lace up. The forefoot has great volume for comfort, while the midfoot keeps me locked in on technical terrain. Plus, the deep lugs provide top-tier traction—something I find rare in a shoe this fast. To sum it up, the Pro is light, aggressive, and insanely fun to run in!
I was skeptical going into the Prodigio, and a pair of LaSportivas again (to be honest), given the size challenges of the past. HOWEVER, take your normal size shoe in X brand, add 1/2 size UP, and give this one a try. I've never felt so cradled, hugged, and secure in an upper. The midsole is as good as any PEBA based one I've tried, and this may be the race shoe for me for 50k up to 100k. Will it go 100mi? Yes, assuming your feet don't swell like gorditas. There is decent width, but not much volume, in the toebox. It's not an ALTRA, TOPO, or even a Saucony (Xodus), but the toes are happy right now and the magic is real, folks. This could be the one. Love that it has no plate, but does protect the feet underneath (thin protective film layer), and the grip is insane! Try 'em.
This shoe has been everything I have dreamed of in a trail running shoe. Sublime, fast responsive cushioning that just keeps giving. Chunky aggressive lugs that provide amazing traction and excellent friction. This is one of the widest La Sportiva shoes I have ever worn which is surprising from La Sportiva. the upper is lightweight and breathable but whatever this material is it sure is super durable and abrasion resistant. I love the gaiter like collar and the fact that it has padding where I need to cinch the laces down for more technical terrain. The shoe just feels super cushioned under foot but not sloppy at all. Sportiva nailed it with this one and I am stoked to get this on bigger runs when the mountains melt out here in CO. This fits true to Sportiva sizing. I am an 11.5 and the 45.5 fits perfectly.
BEST TRAIL SHOE I'VE RUN IN, EVER. Bouncy, grippy, comfy, fantastic lockdown, not too tippy, decent flex, great from technical trail to road - easy pace to cookin'. All around super fun and surprisingly versatile shoe for substantially less than comparable options out there, no plate needed. Only questions remaining are longevity and how they'll fare in warmer weather, otherwise AWESOME!
Had the Prodigio original shoe for a year before getting these and they DID NOT disappoint. Super responsive, good breathability, lightweight, and great grip. Kind of everything I look for. Looking forward to getting some more miles on them!
Took them out for a spin up the first flatiron in Boulder. Lots of rocker, sock liner collar that keeps rocks out, wide enough platform and just soft enough midsole that I'm not too worried about extra ankle rolls due to the stack height. Frixion White, LaSpo's stickiest running shoe rubber on the outsole. The midsole, though thicker, is not as soft as the Prodigio non-pro version (which does not have enough forefoot cusion), but more height and more bouncy. Kind of a rubber bouncy ball feel. Less ground feel, but more protection from sharp rocks. Certainly not nearly as squishy as speedgoat 5s (I haven't tried the 6 which has a more responsive midsole). My knees prefer the squishier EVA midsoles over the more responsive TPU or TPU/EVA soles, but I also have existing knee issues. Others might like the energy return. And I probably need to do more strength work... but my knees are sore for a week after a trail run typical for me that never bothers me in my standard speedgoat 5s. They were good on the up and the down with my only fit complaint being slight rub on outside of big toe on the down. They could be a bit wider there. I'm impressed with how securely the uppers held on all terrain. The uppers are comfortable at the same time and it's easy to get the lace tension right. I'll keep working on my knee strength, but for now, the responsive midsole (returning so much energy back to my joints) doesn't work. Could be slightly wider near the end of the toe box, but overall impressed with the shoe.
A really great release from La Sportiva! The standout features for me are the midsole and outsole - the ride and the grip are really dialed in. On technical terrain (why I bought them), they feel light, nimble, and like hopping through rocks and roots, up and down mountains, but still enough cushion for long days. I've grown tired of all the higher stack releases from all the manufacturers as, in my opinion, shoes need to be lower to the ground and non-plated for technical terrain. The upper is the only place I'd like to see a minor update. The fit feels great on moderate terrain (and no hot spots anywhere), but I didn't feel quite as secure as I want on technical terrain and descending. The overall shape is very fitted and comfortable and you feel like it's the perfect fit when you step in, but there's really no give in the material or stretch, so what you get is what you get. Tightening down the laces doesn't help much as the material doesn't give, which on the plus side they don't absorb much water and dry quickly. I agree with others that sizing is tricky. I'm normally a 10.5 and went with a 44.5, which feels fine, but I'd like to try on a 45 for comparison as my toes are a little close to the end. Looking forward to more miles in these!
Just ran these at Volcanic 50k around Mt St Helens.. Highly varied, technical course.. These performed admirably, foam was good all the way to the end.. Normally US9.5 in Adidas, 10 in Salomon.. Went 43.5.. perfect..
I go back on forth with these. I'm 30 miles in and these are both the most impressive trail shoes I've had and the most disappointing. Most impressive because the fit is phenomenal (with some quirks), the grip is insane, and in technical terrain i've never felt more comfortable. Most disappointing because unlike other reviewers, both here and online, I don't feel these are "fast", "bouncy", or "snappy". I've run in trail shoes with those characteristics and these are not that. What they seem to be are supreme, long range, mountain racing shoes and that's why i'm torn. The few mountain runs I've done in them were incredible, but I feel they fall flat outside of that. My runs and terrain range from Western North Carolina singletrack to tight and twisty Piedmont trails that are fast with minimal elevation and I just don't think these shoes excel with the majority of the running that I do. If I lived where I was doing big elevation and technical trails all the time there is no doubt I would keep them, but I thought they would handle more diverse trails and for me that just isn't the case. They are not particularly light (outside of a true mtn shoe), not snappy or quick to turnover, and in my opinion not that "fast" of a shoe outside of an alpine environment. I do love them though, and will see how they break in over the next 20-30 miles, but as of now I'll likely return them for something like the TNF Vectiv Summit Pro 2
