Upgrade
Just rec’d them. A nice upgrade from the original Newports. Lighter, softer ride. Colors a bit brite. Scarlet is more of an Orange. Will see how long they last. Had two pair of the originals….
Best water mocs, with a question / caveat
I needed a rush pair of water sandals as I was about to inner tube in the San Marcos river (TX) the next day and my previous Keen water mocs kinda fell apart (after 12+ years). These H2s were super comfortable and grippy / protective scrambling on wet rocks and pokey, slimy river mud. I felt very confident on any terrain I traversed, even the long trek through the neighborhood back to the parking lot. One thing: these were my primary shoes through the Belize coast and jungle during the rainy season. My feet were always damp and the H2s never really dried off in the humid weather (no fault to the mocs). But wow, they started to stink. I had to dry them under the hot Texas sun for a few days but it’s questionable. Anyone have suggestions or similar experiences? Are these constructed with anti-microbial components that can minimize this? Thanks.
Nice sandal for creek crossings and camp.
I purchased these as a creek crossing and easy terrain sandal for a long, sometimes difficult backpacking trip. For any extended distance I wore with socks and liked these very well. In creek crossings they did well in keeping any uncomfortable rock or sediment from reaching under my feet. Only thing that kept them from 5 star is the shape of the shoe pressed against my pinky toe eventually, after 12 miles or so, creating enough discomfort that I had to trade for my trail boots, even while still on easier terrain. My favorite sandal so far.
Shoe review
Awesome multifunctional hiking shoe and I’ve found them to be durable and comfortable - definitely recommended (would last longer) if put in wearing rotation.
Not So Great Especially for the High Price
These are much narrower than the normal men's Keen sandals. Am probably going to return them as I only purchased the men's as no women's sandals were available online or in my local store. Seems women are getting the short end of products with less selection, not great sizes and not great selection. REI can do better for its female customers.
Outstanding!
My Chacos had worn out so I got a pair of these to replace, for around town and in the water mostly. But they are incredibly comfortable and lighter weight than the Chacos, so I decided to take them in for my recent 5-day backpacking trip also, and loved to change into them for my camp shoes. I’ll just say again incredibly comfortable, and I like the cinching style rather than tightening the straps as I’ve had on previous sandals.
Soft seems well made
Very nice , the sole is softer than I expected you can bend the toe and probably touch the heal. The upper was a concern to me because I did not want to have to wear socks and I was pleasantly surprised that the material was soft and comfortable no socks needed.
Leaves blisters
I have been searching for closed toe water shoes for years and thought this one would be the ticket. Unfortunately, the webbing is placed in a spot that continuously rubs on the pinky toe leaving painful blisters after only a few hours of wear.
Men's Keen Hyperport H2 Sandals
These are great sandals. I wear them everywhere. Indoors, outdoors, daily walks, going to the store, driving the car, riding my exercise bike, going to breakfast. I much prefer them over my Birkenstocks. I highly recommend these sandals.
My new favorite Keens
Light weight (compared to my other 2 pairs of Keens) and comfortable. Soles with enough shock absorption without being spongy and high off the ground. I personally need a very stiff insole( which fit in the sandals without problem.
