sleeping bags for your hands

These things warm my hands up so fast even when they’re wet. They’re somehow durable even though I’ve abused these things carrying skis with them and spilling beer on them when drinking on the ski lift. I like them for skiing because I can ball them up to fit in whatever pocket so I can use my phone. And if my hands are cold it only takes like 30seconds of a balled fist inside of these and they’re warm again. I got these for free using REI rewards, I’m writing this review because I was ready to buy another pair because it’s getting about that time to retire the ones I have. $75 is a lot but I guess you get what you pay for. They are tough to get on quickly because of the loose inner fabric. I have stumbled to get these on before getting of the lift plenty of times.

OVERKILL in the cold!

Paired these with the REI brand Merino Wool Liner 2.0 gloves underneath in 20 degree weather when there was snow out and my fingers didn’t freeze at all. These feel like they can go lower than 20 with the liner, so they could hold up quite well. I ordered these a size up from what I wear and they are cozy. The heat circulates very well and my hands stay warm. But mostly my fingers!

Better for jackets without cuffs

The wrist on these mitts isn't very synched and the cuffs on my jacket are pushing them off my hands, I constantly have to pull them back on my hands/readjust. It's difficult to drive with them, half the mitt is off my hand and I can't hold the steering wheel properly. But I assume they're not designed for driving. I haven't tried wearing them with a cuffless jacket yet, I imagine they might stay on a bit better. But I like cuffs on my jacket to keep out the wind/snow. We haven't had much cold weather yet this winter so not sure how warm they are. I like the look of them but I'm not yet convinced of their functionality.

Great mittens

Omg, I can’t believe it took me this long to discover this comfort! Out for a long walk in subzero weather and am not even tempted to put in hand warmers. Even my thumbs were comfortable.

Poor dexterity and not that warm

I bought these for a climbing trip where we'd car camp in 20 degree weather. The interior is soft and comfortable, but loose so you can't just slip in - you need to shimmy your hands in. My hands are average size but the interior of these mittens is super long which resulting in little to no dexterity. Forget trying to drive early in the morning wearing these, it's like wearing flippers - very awkward and unsafe. I've now used them for walks with my dog to keep my hands warm, but they're not even that good for that. My hands get cold quickly.

Great gloves but color not as shown

The bright blue color shown in the product catalog photo is not the color of the gloves. The picture attached shows the correct color. Also these are to be used as fashionable c gloves on cold weather. Not functional for sports.

Warm mittens!

I bought a pair of these mittens for my boyfriend who has super cold hands. They allow enough room for his knuckles and fingers and warm! He is very pleased with them I tried them on and decided to order the blue ones for myself. These should work great for cold weather for me. The seem to be well made and designed! We live in Washington state. I ordered XL each time. Mine should arrive soon.

i had my hopes up

i was excited to find gloves with down insulation. i was planning on layering these under heavy mountaineering over mits. i got these and they were too thick for that. wearing them under different mits felt tight, comoressed the down, and caused me to lose all dexterity. worn alone, the gloves work well but it feels like the inner lining of the gloves slides all over, causing the down to get thin in places. the sliding inner liner also makes dexterity bad even when worn alone. big problems if these get wet from sweat or outside moisture. tried taking them skiing, hiking, and mountaineering but they were a flop. honestly id only recommend these for cold neighborhood walks. the materials are also good quality

MIRACLE MITTS

It has happened. A gear brand has created a mitt that kept my Raynaud’s at bay! I’m a generally cold person, who has Raynaud’s—and I live in northwest Wyoming. Additionally, I’m a marathoner, and I walk my dog roughly 3 miles every day; so I spend a significant of time outdoors in super cold temps. I, quite literally, return home after winter runs and walks with my hands in pain. I have SO many mediocre pairs of gloves. THIS MITTEN HAS DONE THE IMPOSSIBLE! It has kept my hands warm and comfortable while I’m outside, have to take my mitts off from time to time, and when I’m getting blasted by snow and wind. I have the utmost confidence they’re going to continue to do the job when temps drop into single digits and below.

Excellent

These down filled gloves were a present to my daughter who wanted easy-on mittens to wear after her weekly winter plunge into Long Island Sound. Need easy-on because freezing fingers very stiff. These REI mittens perfect. Toasty.
