Sole peeling apart in 5 days of wear
Got these for an upcoming trip to Alaska. We wanted rainproof shoes to keep the kids feet dry. Was not impressed or happy with them wearing out within 5 days of purchase. The top point at the tip where the rubber sole meets the fabric stated to peel off at the tip within 5 days of my kid wearing them around to break them in before the trip. I would highly not recommend purchasing these as the durability was not what I had been under the impr3ession of them having.
Too narrow for me
I love all my other altras, but unfortunately these are more narrow than my previous pairs (Escalante, Lone Peak 7/8). They have good stability features and I enjoyed the black/purple colorway, but I won't be able to wear these with a bunion. The narrow width also affects the toe box and puts pressure on the ball of my foot.
So Far, So Good
I have worn Altras for years. A couple of years ago I switched from Torins to Paradigms, but decided to give these Torins a try this year. Out of the box, they have fit well and feel good. I have minor neuromas and plantar faciitis on both feet, and put probably around 20 pavement walking miles on them in the first week with no problems. The goretex is a huge plus in the PNW! The lack of 5 stars is that I wish they had a bit more cushioning under the ball of the foot, and, well, Altra's strange color choices...
Love the waterproof feature in puddle Oregon
Comfortable, waterproof workout/running shoes. Bought a size up from my normal since my usual size was too tight, in spite of the wide width.
I loved these until the bubble formed...
These are very comfortable, felt very secure on my feet and I felt like I could walk in them forever until the left shoe developed a huge bubble under the insole when I was halfway through a 5 mile hike. I brought them back to REI, they immediately took them back and set up a replacement pair. I will revisit this review once I get my replacement pair.

Okay, first off… I am a guy… with narrow feet. I prefer altra footwear but the men’s size 10 is just not narrow enough. The women’s 11.5 is perfect. And these are waterproof, too. I can walk in tithe rain without having wet feet. I am happy.
