How to Choose Climbing Ropes

Due to its light weight and small pack size, the Maxim Signature Series Pinnacle 9.4 mm x 70 m dry rope is well suited to multi-pitch climbs and durable enough to hold up to sport or trad climbing.

I’ve been using this rope for trad climbing. Rope came pretty stiff but has become more supple over time—I really like this rope as well as the bi pattern for rappels.
I had the 9.5 previous version. Looks like the same rope, but a 9.4. Even has the same pattern. Bought it two years ago. I’ve taken it in out west on granite, sport and trad climbing all over NC as well. It’s still in really good shape. It’s a tough rope if you’re looking for thin and durable. Maxim is not as popular as other brands, but I think the quality is equal or even better. Mammut or Maxim are my forever brands.
