Smartwool makes great socks, base layer (long underwear) and other items that both my wife and I delighted in wearing. I thought that I would give the Men's Active Boxer Brief a try so I bought two pair thinking that I would love them and replace my cotton with the Smartwool ones. They arrived, I unpacked them, took off all the extra tags, laundered them and was so excited to try them out. The fit and the feel were wonderful! Unfortunately there was no fly opening. I spend most of the day outdoors and a useable bathroom isn't usually around, for this reason I only gave it three stars and I won't be wearing them. The did look great on the models though. No where was there a note that there was no fly :-(
I like these briefs but I'm not in love with them. I think they ride up a little too much. Otherwise, very comfortable. I will also note that they are only 50% merino wool (or just about). I got the blue and marmalade colors which both look really good. One of these reasons I got thse was because I bike commute and I'll wear these on work days. The wool does dry quicker in case I get sweaty and has natural anti-odor properties. At the end of the day, they seem completely fine and dry.
I purchased these for my son, and boy was he unhappy. He said, these just aren't as good as they used to be. He feels the inseam is now shorter than be fore and the quality has gone down hill. They went back. Smartwool, he wants a longer leg and something as sturdy as his old pairs for the active life he has.
This style is a good fit and material but not exactly the everyday style I was looking for. Compared to other compression style boxers they were one of my more favorite brands but the comfort just wasn’t what I was looking for. I ended up with the Everyday style from Smartwool.
Extremely comfortable. As some one with wider hips and is average height the XXL fit perfectly. I'm typically a 40 in waist. They work well in the heat, very breathable and I will definitely be getting more.
does not feel any better than any other active style boxers. still rides up, still gets hot. literally feels like I paid a premium for the `wool` text.
I’ve been wearing these for years. The most comfortable briefs I’ve ever worn I highly recommend them. Made of the upmost quality.
what a great fit for all of my parts. Great material keeps a sweat where it’s supposed to be.
Excellency build quality, incredibly comfortable. Will most definitely be buying more pairs.
Comfortable brief but I didn’t look carefully and didn’t realize they don’t have a fly
