I got this jacket in October and have been wearing it all winter for hiking and cross-country skiing. It's fantastic active insulation that provides my torso with extra warmth and side/under the arms with extra breathability. Move over Arc'teryx, the Mammut elephant is going to crush you! Also comparable to the Patagonia Nano Light.
Love the Jacket super light weight. Perfect for traveling.
Purchased this for a trip to Patagonia over the past two weeks, where temperatures dropped to the 30s at night and hovered between the 40s-50s during the day. This jacket requires a long-sleeve underlayer in colder temps. There is "mesh" style stitching along the backs of the arms, making it drafty; however, if you have a long-sleeve underlayer or thermal under it, there are no issues. I was not able to test its level of water resistance due to a lack of rain. It kept me warm, fits nicely, and is slim, and I love that it packs down into the pocket. My only complaint is how terribly cheap the hardware is. The zippers could be of better material. I am always worried I am going to break the zipper when trying to pack it into the pocket. I cannot wait to test it out for skiing this season.
Too tight in the middle. Nice jacket if you have the right build.
