FUTUREFLEECE feels scratchy on my skin
I bought one during labor day sale from REI online. Not sure if it was available in store to try, but I didn't want to test the wait line during a sale event. It was still pricey, but I've had other north face fleece products and thought it would be worth the price! The fit was good. The outer fabric is nice, but umm... futurefleece sounds like it would be uber softer than normal fleece. IMO the interior fleece feels scratchy, like something I would find in low quality wear. Might be for others, but definitely not for me.
LOVE THIS PIECE ! .. but …
Love this piece for the following reasons : it adds a great deal of warmth to my layering system with minimal weight. Like almost nothing. This garment meets all expectations for me. BUT … I recall reading a negative review focused on quality of stitching … threads coming loose … and I discovered the same problem with threads coming loose at bottom hem. It was a bit disappointing but it was an easy four inch hand stitching repair which I will follow up with a full restitching of the hem on my sewing machine all the way around. One other issue to mention … size. I normally wear a medium but had to return that for a small. I’m 5’9” and 150lb. The small fits perfect. I’m glad I paid full price for the item through REI rather than try to find a bargain on eBay. Everything I see on eBay has slight differences from mine … I suspect they are fake.
Perfect high exertion layer, perfect fit
This thing is so perfect for high exertion activities. Very minimalist piece, all you would ever need. I’m 6 foot 190 lbs athletic build, fairly broad shoulders and after reading it’s a fairly long jacket I went for size medium. It’s my best fitting piece of clothing I think. Very trim fit but still good length in the sleeves. I’ll be buying a another.
