Stops the wind and keep you warm
I own a lot of gear and this jacket was replacing a coat that I had for 20 years. I'm surprised how well it performs, It's a keeper! Works for me form 35 degrees F and up. I wear just a tee shirt under it most of the time unless I now I will be taking it off somewhere then I'll dress accordingly. I bought the black.
Review is for REI. Never recieved the product. After the multiple poor experiences I've had with REI this month, includong in store and with Capital one. I think this is the one the breaks the camels back. I literally have no reason to shop with REI anymore. Between Summit Hut and Back Country I have found everything at better prices despite the point system and not to mention the quality of customer service measure beyond REI
Warm mid layer
I bought this specifically to take on a trip to Antartica and Torres del Paine NP in chile knowing that the weather would be pretty cold for both destinations. Worked great as a midlayer. I was toasty warm in sub zero temp with a base layer, this mid layer, and a down outer layer. Very comfortable, zippers are solid, 3 pockets, and felt pretty durable. Happy with my purchase.
