Comfortable, waterproof so far

Very comfortable and didn't need any breaking in, other than that I put in Superfeet insoles because I have plantar fasciitis. I've stood in a small stream doing trailwork in them, and worn them during rainstorms, and so far my feet have stayed dry. One of the lacing hooks went flying when I laced them up during one camping trip and I couldn't reinstall it; fortunately I could skip that hook and the boot was still comfortable. When I returned them to REI because of that defect I got another pair, because I presume that was a fluke.

Great boot, but not waterproof

4th attempt at a WATERPROOF hiker that can walk through morning dew-covered paths without soaking my feet. This fit and needed no breaking in. Had it right at a month when I was able to walk in puddles and wet grass. BOTH SHOES FAILED at the textile tongue. Danner said it was defective, I asked if it was a defective DESIGN because both failed. Instead of gambling, i'm trying a different Danner this week. Boots have to keep my feet dry.
