I love these boots! Waterproof super warm And grippy .. so far I’ve taken them up to high peaks in the Adirondacks and ice and snow and a Catskill Mountain. I plan on going up back up to the whites with them in New Hampshire. I wore them right out of the box completely comfortable. I pair them with nice warm. Wool socks, no complaints. I buy this brand over and over.
These are comfortable right out of the box. They're warm and stable but move more like a sneaker than a boot.
After a month of use so far these have been ok. Got them for trails in cold weather. The tread and grip are very good, with deep lugs. My feet stay warm and dry. I'm not super impressed with the laces and lacing system, they seem a bit weak, and the upper lugs look like a future failure point. Won't be my everyday tread, but just for cold, wet, icy, type days. Glad I got them on sale.
I have been wearing Merrell hiking shoes and boots for years. They are my go to for camping and hiking. I purchased the Moab 2 Winter Boot online without trying them on. I had assumed since my Moab 2 hiking shoes and boots are the same size and fit the Moab 2 Winter boots would be consistant. Unfortunately that is Not the case. The feel a full size larger so I had to put my oversized orthotics in and a footed liner to take up the space. The lacing hardware at the top of the boot is very narrow for the laces to fit in easily. It takes extra time to lace up with this hardware. Please go back to the summer Moab 2 hiking boot hardware. The boots are warm and waterproof and great in snow or slush. They fail to perform in icy conditions with little to No traction at all. They are comparable to my curling slider shoe. I was expecting better fit and performance for rhe price. I hope this is a one off mistake by Merrell.
These did not last one day as the lace clip pulled out on the first try. Merrell boots seemed to have gone downhill . I have only used Merrel snow and hiking boots for the last 15 years and my last few purchases have been very disappointing
Comfortable use them for work Walk over 12 miles a day between my route and my OT 6 days a week when it rain feet will get wet if it’s rain all day and it’s heavy only problem they do keep my feet warm on them Baltimore cold days
I bought them for a trip to the Highlands of Scotland. I didn’t have time to break them in but it didn’t matter. Super comfortable and nice looking boot. Highly recommended.
This boot is not well made. Only used for 2 winters and already the boot is ripping on the side. I added pics to show the rip.
Lightweight, comfortable and the soul is firm enough for rough terrain
I have had several Merrell products I have loved. Based on that experience, I ordered these boots off the internet without trying on first. I haven't used them much yet, but my initial impression is that the quality matches up to my expectations, and I like them except for one important thing. I dislike the lacing system, and the very thin laces. The photo shows a normal Merrell boot lace for comparison, and boot design making use of normal laces difficult.
