Perfect upgrade to stock grips on a Brompton

I bought Ergon grips to improve the comfort and riding experience of my Brompton C-Line Explore. EVO grips are a refinement of Ergon’s original GP-1 grip; the retainer bolt is also tightened from the bottom, for a nicer finished look. Pay attention to the fitting instructions: the grips must be inserted all the way to the built-in stop, because the clamp is on the outside of the grip, rather than inside. Because I have an “M” type handlebar on my Brompton, about 8mm had to be trimmed from the inside of the grip, which can easily be done with a sharp kitchen knife. This upgrade is superior to the stock grips. I no longer have hand fatigue on even short rides, which I had before replacing the original grips.

Successful first use

I was surprised at the difference just a little bit of extra surface area on the grip made in how my hands felt. First trip with them was 950 miles over 26 days. No numbness or other discomforts.
