Gloves are very sturdy and dexterous. They are not heavy gloves and thus are excellent for hiking, backcountry skiing, or yard work. However, I would not recommend these gloves for resort skiing.
Great dexterity and grip, snug fit without constricting movement, reasonably durable, kind of windproof. I use these for snowshoeing and "warm" alpine forays. Perfect for aerobic efforts, but I don't wear them standing around in subfreezing temps (but warm enough when boiling water or setting a shelter in snow). Weight for my size 9 pair is 5.2 oz.
Go Ice Climbing glove on-lead. The correct number of pairs of gloves for ice climbing is N+1. even in very wet conditions, our rope was soaked, and I could feel the cold when I was coiling or pulling rope in but my hands staying dry and warm
Took these uphill at Jay Peak, VT with 10deg temps and 40mph wind gusts (summit lifts on windhold). Stike the prefect balance of breathability and warmth when going uphill. Hands were warm and dry, impressive.
