Came with terrible chemical smell- won't go away
Love the look of this coat. Good shape for accommodating wider hips. But this coat came with this terrible greasy film on it and an awful smell like stale cat urine. Powerful. I tried to wash it and the smell didn't go away. I returned it and then tried to order it again and the same thing happened with the second order. I am not sure why this is happening, but it is very disappointing.
No chemical smell. Warm, cozy, overall well made
Purchased Taupe size M for a family member who is 5'4", 36" bust, 27"waist, 34" hips. Short torso, long arms. Fits perfectly with enough room to layer. The shape is less boxy than other jackets, slightly fitted thru waist. Longer in back to cover the bum, and slightly flared at base. This is mainly a daily wear coat for cold Alaska winters, occasionally used for activities like (outdoor) ice skating. Warm and cozy. Soft fabric lining where hood meets with chin/neck. No chemical smell as mentioned in other reviews. The Taupe color is a soft, warm dusty pink, very pretty and nice to find a down coat that is a soft neutral, seems like it would complement many skin tones. 4 stars because: Zipper comes undone easily at bottom when zipping...the starter pin at base is a little shorter than some zippers which makes it slightly tricky to begin zipping. However, once the coat is zipped it stays closed. Also, there is no adjuster to cinch in the bottom of the coat. Given the slight flare to the bottom, it would be nice to be able to cinch snugly to eliminate drafts on extra cold days.
