Comfy casual
Nice casual shoe. They look good with pants or shorts, socks or no socks. The cork cushion is comfortable and they're comfy right out of the box without any hot spots. A couple things I really like that are specific to my feet: my feet tend to get hot, and the mesh design of these shoes help with ventilation and overheating doesn't seem to be an issue. I also have a tendency to get blisters on the back of my ankle if new shoes are too stiff around the ankle. These shoes don't have that problem as the back part near the ankle has an elastic quality. I really appreciated that. It also allows you to leave the shoes tied and slip them on and off easily. These are my new go to casual shoe for work and/or around town.
Dress Up/Dress Down in these Comfortable Sneakers
I tend to be a neutral, big toe box shoe type person, but I thought I’d give these SAOLA Cannon Knit 2.0s a try. When I took them out of the box, I was shocked at how light they were. Initially I was concerned about the snugness of the fit, but after wearing them for a day, I was sold – these shoes are some of the most comfortable sneakers I’ve worn. The look of the knit sneakers received countless compliments. They can be worn with shorts, jeans, or dressed up with nicer pants for a business casual look. I’ve worn them sockless, no show socks, and longer socks. Though they are knit shoes, my feet were still warm in colder weather. I love the blue color, but did have to make tweaks to my style to accommodate them because it’s not a normal shoe color for me. I have worn these daily, all day for a week, on a weekend trip to DC with miles of city walking, and for quick trips, and they still look brand new. (Photos were taken right before posting this review.) My feet have felt a little warm at times, but they have never felt fatigued. The cork insole has a little bit of arch support, which is not like my normal shoes, but wasn’t a problem. I could easily stand and walk many miles in these shoes with no concern! The back/heel section fits like a sock, no slippage, while the toe box does give a little wiggle room. I highly recommend these shoes. Highly recommend.
Versatile shoe that provides comfort from day-to-n
Put in 20 walking miles on cobblestone and concrete. Pros: Beautiful blue color. Knit yet breathable. Pull tab loop is great for putting on the shoes. Reinforced upper heel cup is pure fabric which is great for durability and comfort. No squeaks from walking. Good day to night shoe, wear it to work, wear it going out for dinner. Neutral: High arch support. Wide toe box. Overall wider shoe in this “converse” style Sole of shoe is soft, durability TBD. Cons: Not weatherproof (due to knit) Cork insole so durability is low
Comfy and stylish shoes with slightly quirky fit
Overall these are quite nice shoes: they look more stylish and presentable than traditional sneakers, are very comfortable right out of the box, and are well-made with some nice design details, and are relatively light -- which makes them a good all-day shoe. I quite like the shoes and have gone for hikes as long as four miles in complete comfort. I am deducting one star for the slightly quirky fit. At least in my size range, the shoes are a bit short and wide: I normally wear an 11.5, but got this shoe in a size 12 -- and it is precisely as long as an 11.5. So, first piece of advice is to order a half-size larger than you normally wear. However, my size 12 shoes also are a bit wide; so, the second piece of advice is that these shoes are great for someone with wider feet. On my feet, I have to tighten up the laces to get them sufficiently snug, width-wise, which means that there is a slight 'pucker' in the toebox (as can be seen in the third photo). The sizing issues are pretty minor, though - hence the deduction of only one star. The shoes are very soft and supple and required no break-in period -- they were comfy from day one. Time will tell on durability, but the tread looks sturdy, which is a good sign. On the whole, I do recommend these shoes.
Great Casual Wear Shoe
I received these products for free from the REI Trailblazers sampling program in exchange for my honest review. Very comfortable casual wear shoe. The open mesh material is surprisingly soft to the touch despite it holding shape very well. I was initially worried there would be some heel slipping but didn’t experience any at all. The heel area is soft and flexible . My favorite part of the shoe is the cork footbed. It supports my arch and I can see over time it molding to my foot for an even better fit. These are great looking shoes in my opinion that can be worn with jeans, casual pants or shorts.
Narrow but well cushioned
I was skeptical of these shoes from the start but they surprised me. I like them just enough to wear them occasionally. The overall fit is tight across the top of the foot and is designed for narrow feet or those used to wearing narrow shoes. This does not have a wide toe box at all. Thankfully the upper is light and stretchy and the shoe can accommodate wider feet with some looser lacing methods. The sole has a heel-toe drop so if you're used to a typical shoe, it will feel normal. I'm used to a zero-drop shoe so it felt a bit like short heels. But the sole was very cushiony and I was able to put 6 to 10 hours on my feet (8,000 to 12,000 steps) and had no fatigue at all. I'm not a fashionable person and care more about how the shoe fits. But several people commented that they liked how the shoe looked on me.
Comfy and stylish sneaker
By way of background, my day-to-day sneakers are typically old running shoes that are still good enough to wear around, but worn out such that I can't comfortably run in them. I was kinda skeptical of this product - how comfortable could a shoe be if it's from recycled materials? Simply put, these sneakers are awesome: lightweight, almost slipper comfortable, and breathable. Now, my old running shoes are headed for the donation bin. I've been wearing them the past few days as the temperatures warm up in New England. Two bonus features: the laces stayed tied and the tongue stays in place. It's super annoying when shoe laces come undone - these don't! I also like the strap on the heel which makes it easier putting them on. I'm not a good gage of fashion, but 3 people complimented the shoes and wanted to know the brand - so that must be a good sign! I really don't have any concerns or points of improvement.
Flexible shoes for the outdoors and office
This is the second pair of SAOLA shoes I have owned. I love the aesthetics of the shoes in general; the knit top is pliable and comfortable, yet they look fashionable enough for me to wear into the office and perform outdoor work tasks when necessary. Need to go gorp-inspired business casual? Then this is your shoe. My only issue with the shoes is that they really hurt the arches of my feet, which normally isn't an issue with most shoes. I'll still be more SAOLA shoes moving forward regardless.
UBER COMFORT
These are some of the more comfortable shoes I’ve worn. The knit uppers are breathable and stretch with your feet throughout the day, making them outstanding for all day wear. The soles have great arch support, but are quite firm, which may be troublesome for certain wearers. They are more narrow than what I usually wear, but I haven’t noticed any uncomfortable hotspots developing, likely due to the stretch of the knit. As they are knit, obviously your feet will get wet quickly in any heavy precipitation, and the day I wore them on a chillier morning I did notice that my feet were cold, but that’s too be expected with this type of shoe. An excellent choice for a late spring/ summer shoe. I have the blue color, which really looks classy.
Comfortable and stylish
I received these products for free from the REI Trailblazers sampling program in exchange for my honest review. Very comfortable. Mesh upper that breathes well. Supportive insoles with a cork surface, and they are replaceable. Highly recommended. #reitrailblazers
