Sizing Notes
Measurements are stated in inches unless otherwise indicated. Size chart values represent body measurements, not garment measurements.
SHORT: Some pants are available in short sizes, which generally means an inseam that is 2.5 inches shorter than regular sizes.
TALL: Some pants, shirts, jackets and parkas are available in tall sizes, which generally means an inseam that is 3 inches longer and a rise that is 1 inch longer, a shirt or jacket body that is 2 inches longer, a parka body that is 2.5 inches longer and sleeves that are 2.5 inches longer than regular sizes.
Capri or cropped pants have an intentionally shorter inseam—reference the technical specs instead of this chart.
Inseam is measured to the floor.

Nice running pants for cooler days
Pants that I ready to wear outside everyday. I worked out in them several times indoor, they are little warm. I think if person does CrossFit, these pants will make too much sweatiness. Outside and especially now they work perfect. I feel very comfortable in them, protected from fall chills. When I sweat, pants dried out pretty quickly. They do not constrict when jogging. The only thing I don't really like is how pockets sit. It is not convenient for me. And I would prefer bigger opening for pockets. Otherwise I would definitely recommend them, as really option
Great for runs, walks, hikes, and some bike rides
As an FYI, I'm about an inch taller than the model in the video, along with having a roughly 34-inch waist, and I wear a large as my legs are a bit longer. Keep that in mind as you consider fit. Even though I am more of a cyclist and walker/hiker than runner, I've found these a good fit for casual cycling with the wind blocking front panels that cover the knees and ankle cuffs that keeping them from getting bound up in the chainring. While the description suggests these could be worn over tights, I wear these instead of tights, particularly if I am doing chores around the house as they provide greater range of motion in and around the crotch and they are noticeably warmer. They are warm enough and fashionable enough to wear for quick errands or anywhere casual attire is appropriate. Pockets are great as well. I tend to go out with just a phone and a slim wallet, which fits well in the back pouch. Gotta say I love them.
So breathable they work in the gym and on the run
When it comes to running outside in winter, I struggle to find the motivation due to the cold, but these pants are a game changer. They are made of a breathable yet warm fabric that doesn’t get soaked from sweat. Furthermore, they have wind break panels in the front thighs running down to just below the knees to keep the wind from blowing right through as I run - very thoughtfully designed. There are two front zippered pockets that are sewn in place on the inside to keep the contents from jostling around, and the elastic waistband with a drawstring keeps the pants snuggly at my waist. The fit is good with ample room in the inseam; however, the pants are about 1-inch shorter than they ought to be at the ankles and require wearing warm crew socks to keep my ankles warm and drafts out. There is no fly and minimal branding/reflective markings for safety.
Super Comfortable & Effective for Running & Hiking
I love these pants. They fit great, and are warm on cool days (insulating) and cool on warm days (breathable). They are very light, so I’m planning on using them for backpacking next Spring/Summer season. They might also be good for a base layer under snowpants for snowshoeing or snowboarding. I’m planning on trying them for those activities this Winter. I have a fairly thin build, typically wearing Medium pants and Large (fitted, if available) tops. These (Medium) fit me well in the waist and length, and are fitted but with just enough looseness (not baggy) so not encumbered in any position. REI offers them in many sizes, including “Short” and “Tall” variants, so getting a good fit should not be an issue for anyone I would think. The pockets are spot on, not too big and not too small. The right-side pocket has a small inter pocket that works pretty well for a car FOB. There’s also a small pocket on the back side around the tailbone. That works well for keeping something from jostling around. The waist drawstring works well, and has not binded up or gotten knotted like some previous warm-up or sweatpants I have. They do have some tendency to pick up burrs on the “main” fabric areas when I’m trail running or hiking where there is overgrowth, but that’s pretty typical for any pants other than high-sheen nylon. I hope REI will offer these in more color option, as so much of what I own is black or gray. :-) Overall, these are a great addition to my hiking/running/outdoor pants collection!
Amazing thermal running pants
I don't normally give 5 stars for anything because anything could be improved but these pants really blew me away. I love everything about them. The slim zippered pockets are great for running pants. The zipper can give you the added comfort that nothing will fly out while you are running, but honestly my phone any keys fit so well in the pockets I would not have been worried at all. The pockets are nice in size and can hold a larger phone but also keep the items in them close to the body so they do not bounce around while running. The legs come in around the ankles making these perfect for low profile barefoot running shoes, or any normal running shoes. I have other pants that I will end up stepping on the heal I don't have on a good size shoe. I love that I don't have to worry about these being to long on my legs for that. These are lightweight but very warm. I did go for a run in 68 degree weather and that was probably to hot for them but not bad by any means. I feel like these would easily be comfortable down to 30 or more but it doesn't get that cold here that often. I can't wait to test them in colder weather though. If I had any critique it would be that I have dry skin, and these are for cold weather which means my skin will be even dryer, and having zippers on the pockets makes them a little more rough pulling things out of the pockets. I tend to like zipper pockets but I do notice in the winter it can rub my hand a little if I am digging in there often. There is a chance I would pick up a pair with no zippers if they made them but for running pants the zippers do provide some extra piece of mind that you won't lose anything.
Extremely comfortable…more like awesome sweat pant
Dumb review above, these aren’t trail pants. They are “running pants”. I like wearing at end of hiking day around fire. Have 3 or 4 friends who have bought since. Arguably expensive but I love them.
Almost perfect running pants
Although I wear thermal tights for most winter runs, there are times where you need that extra layer of warmth and protection. These pants are perfect for that. As a caution, these are not general thermal pants for everyday wear. The Windstopper fabric is only on the front thighs and knees, which is exactly what you need for running. They'll keep you warm for awhile when stopped, but are really meant for active use. Pros: • Very comfortable lining that doesn't pinch or snag, but keeps you warm • Windstopper fabric really does keep the chill out • Soft main fabric that doesn't make noise when active, but is still breathable • Zippered hand pockets • Comes in tall sizes, which fit me much better than anything else in the market Cons: • The zipper pulls should be beefier than the little cords. I replaced mine to make them easier to grab with gloves • The rear pocket should be slightly larger for phones, and should really have a zipper • A few extra reflective details would be nice I gave 4 stars only because there could still be some improvements, as outlined above. But these are superb pants that are indispensable to my runs in the winter.
great winter running trousers
got this for Christmas and have used it in rain, (not rain proof so did get quite wet and heavy), snow and the cold and it has been warm and comfortable. when its been really cold (15-25F) I wore marino wool baselayer underneath. extra bonus is the sustainability profile, it's cool to run in captures CO2
Windblock. Just enough warmth. And good venting.
Shaking the dust off the running shoes. Shaking the rust off the legs. Its chilly/cold out and needed something as my old gear was just --old--. Honestly I got these on sale/clearance. But I am super pumped about that. I heat up ALOT even on bitter cold days. What interested me the most was the wind break material on the front with venting on the back. I found these a great winter/cold weather pair of jogging pants. I would purchase them again. I would recommend them to others.
Great for indoors and outdoors.
I received these products for free from the REI Trailblazers sampling program in exchange for my honest review. Great pants to wear around the house or for a run. The inside waffle pattern is nice and cozy. The freeze liner will keep you nice and warm on your run. The shiny outside make them look like tracksuit pants.
