- Durable nylon/spandex fabric is breathable, abrasion-resistant and stretchy to allow for unrestricted range of motion
- Durable water repellent (DWR) finish made without PFAS sheds light rain and stains
- UPF 50+ sun protection
- Pull-on design features a drawcord adjustment and elastic in the waistband that allows easy on/off even when tied
- Hand pockets let them stow small valuables
- Backs of cuffs are elasticized to prevent drag and to keep out debris

Pilled within 3 hours of first wear
My toddler is a pretty chill guy who isn’t hard on his clothes at all, so I’m surprised to be here writing this review! He wore these for the first time today on an easy/casual outdoor walk and I noticed pilling had appeared when I took his shoes off to get in the car at the end. The pilling is on his calves, so the only thing I can think of is that his boots brushing/hitting the opposite leg as he walked could have done it? He did climb on a few rocks but honestly I expect toddler pants from REÍ to be able to handle some gentle bouldering. Beware of this delicate fabric - my kid only wore them for a few hours and they already look snagged and worn.

These are my favorite pants I have ever got my little man! The material is incredible. Durable, light weight and breathable/quick dry but still have great stretch. They are a little long (we sized up to last all season) but very easy to roll and still looks cute. They have a real and functional drawstring which never happens and makes sizing up more doable. I'm going to see how they hold up after a few washes and will be ordering every color if they wash well. THANK YOU REI for offering toddler outdoor gear. It is so hard to find quality things in toddler sizes that are still affordable. My only mild complaint is that the color is extremely different than what the photo looked like online. We ordered stratus gray which looks sage greenish online and is much darker gray-brown in person. It's still a beautiful color that we love so not unhappy about it-just a warning for someone pickier or a more specific outfit plan in mind.

Lightweight pants for kids. Work well for running and protection in the weeds.
