Extremely comfortable wool blend, great for all seasons, my favorite brand to be sure.
I purchased these for my son, and boy was he unhappy. He said, these just aren't as good as they used to be. He feels the inseam is now shorter than be fore and the quality has gone down hill. They went back. Smartwool, he wants a longer leg and something as sturdy as his old pairs for the active life he has.
I really wanted to like these. The wool blend material is super lightweight, comfortable and breathable, and I really like the fabric being sewn into the inside of the waistband rather than just having an elastic waistband against my skin. But unfortunately these are more boxer than brief. For reference, I am 5'7", have a 31-32 waist, average size derrière, and slim thighs. The waist of these is spot on, but from there down these fit more like a boxer. When I first put them on I could feel that they aren't as form fitting as a typical boxer brief and there was a little bit of space in the leg opening. As I wore them throughout the day the material in the leg opening and throughout the hip stretched out a decent amount, making these definitely fit and feel like a pair of regular boxers. Disappointed to say the least. I would only recommend these for a bulkier shaped guy.
I bought these as I was having a chafing problem with the seams of my underwear while hiking. I do most of my hiking in Florida where it is hot and humid and I was reluctant to buy a wool blend. After about 50 miles on the trails, I made the right decision. Problem solved, no more chafing.
So big fan of merino. The band on these pair keeps folding over and I do not like that I purchased 2 pairs sadly. I order another pair of merino in a different style hoping they will not have the band problem.
Have been wearing these for about a month now. Good sizing and good fit. A bit of stretching out throughout the day but within expectation. The fabric is a little bit on the light side.
Great for sports, all-year round. Comfortable and doesn’t smell.
a bit expensive but overall great quality and comfortable
