Pleased with this shoe
I wear shoes with Vibram soles due to joint instability and decided to give these a try. Also, full disclosure, I have flat feet and so always use orthotic arch supports from the orthopedist. That being said, I am very happy with these shoes. Another review described them as narrow but I would describe them more as having firm, all-around support. My feet are inclined to spread and I really like the secure structure of these shoes. I used them for urban hiking and feel like I have more energy when wearing these shoes.
Great Supportive Hiker
Great supportive hiker. I use these on my daily hikes and walks on terrain from dirt roads to the steep and rugged trails outside of Park City. They grip well and are stiff enough to not feel any sharp rocks. I definitely recommend them for anyone who is looking for something more than a light running shoe to hike in.
Great light hiking shoe
The Rocket DFS GTX are my go to light hiking shoes. They are comfortable all day long and perform well in mud as well as hot dusty conditions. Stability and fit were good on my narrow feet.
Great for hiking and scrambling
Love the rocket for these reasons: Vibram outsole has awesome traction, the DFS (dual fit lacing system) is a great feature - you can dial in the fit of the shoe depending on what you are doing. Living in the PNW being waterproof is a plus. The fit is secure in the heel and allows my toes/forefoot plenty of room to spread out. It is a solid shoe for multitude of activities; hiking, scrambling, backpack and around town.
