Great fit and balance of stiffness.
Had not had a pair of Asolos in a while as I just shopped for something less expensive despite a positive experience with them in the past. Was happy to see that these fit my foot great. I put in orthotics and the wear has been very even on the soles. My two issues are - 1 - as they are waterproof they tend to be a bit hot in the summer. They don't breathe like a non-waterproof shoe - something my wife warned me about but, of course, I ignored. 2- one of the fabric loops for the laces broke so now I have uneven lacing support. The shoes are less than a year old, so maybe this would be a warranty issue, but I don't know. Overall pretty happy with these and having them waterproof has worked out more than the negative aspect of that feature.
Nice light weight hike shoe
I've used these only on a couple non-technical hikes and they seem very comfortable. I bought these for light non-technical hikes and occasional use on pavement. They have nice grip with a good balance for flexibility for a light shoe. I bought these to replace Saloman X Ultra 5 that hurt my feet and had less sole support. I have another Asolo shoes and boots and have always been pleased with the brand.
High hopes -- pretty good
Interesting shoe. Not a lot of arch support but still comfy. They felt good on a long hike. The only negative is that I could feel rocks and roots though the sole on a hike, unlike Salomon Elixir. So maybe these aren't the best for rougher trails.
Extremely pleased with the Asoloe Tahoe GTX
An excellent hiker. Fits well. Sturdy. Durable. Clean look and easy to keep clean. I gave pause on the price, but once purchaced, I could not be more pleased. The ability to "resole" gave me confidence that I'd have love these shoes for a good long while.
