⭐⭐⭐⭐ Wore these straight out of the box to the Northwoods of Wisconsin Camping In My Van for 7 nights & 6 days with Merino Wool medium weight socks. Temperature was 80 degrees warmest down to 32 degrees. Very comfortable, good ankle support, overall a good hiking boot. The Rig 🚐🛣️🏕️🇺🇲✌🏼

I just finished section hiking the Appalachian Trail over the last 11 years and MOABs are my footwear of choice. I do lots of hiking and backpacking and wear out a pair per year. I keep a new pair ready to go still in the box in my closet. Always catch them on sale. That said 3 recent pair have came apart at the sole in less than 100 miles one was a warranty replacement for a pair that did the same. Merrell is very unhelpful with any warranty claims. I have only had one pair replaced in all of the pair’s I’ve had the same problems with some of course were MOAB 2 s. That said I recommend these boots. Buy them on sale. Never expect warranty service and you will love them. I use special insoles not the factory ones.
Literally wore them out of the box with no break in. Very comfortable hiking in the Adirondacks.
They feel very good I climbed about 1000 vertical feet yesterday in them
That's awesome! Thank you.
If you like wet feet for the price then this a boot for you. I absolutely hate having wet feet and 6 months of ownership and these boots have leaked constantly. I don't recommend this boot if you want dry feet. Walking in light rain today and my feet were cold and soaked. I'll be looking elsewhere for waterproof boots next time. This is my second pair of Moab's, the first were great, can't say the same about these.

Bought these last year, but just started wearing them. Quite comfortable right from the get go, however after only 2 weeks of wear one of the material eyelets broke. Now just waiting for the rest of them to break or tear. I will not be buying Merrell footwear with these type of eyelets ever again. I do not recommend these to other consumers.

I have been wearing merrell boots for 25 years. I'm not sure exactly how many pairs I've had, but this was my fourth pair of Moab 3 GTX. I've always been able to wear them to hike right out of the box. They have always been the most comfortable boots I've ever worn. I bought this latest iteration because they improved the outsole by giving them more of a lug pattern for better traction. I went for a short hike in them today and I could not believe how incredibly uncomfortable they are. It feels as though there is no cushion/shock absorption at all. I have never experienced this with any hiking boots I've ever worn. It was like walking barefoot on concrete. My feet hurt so bad, I couldn't wait to get down so I could take them off. I'm extremely disappointed, as I have been talking up merrell for two decades. I don't know if merrell sells factory seconds or factory rejects, but something is definitely wrong with this pair. I would like to return them, but unfortunately, it's too late. Merrell, what happened?

Definitely a down grade compared to my Moab 2's. The 3's are about 4oz lighter. The padding by the ankle is thinner and the insole is not as soft. All in all, they just seem kinda cheap. I will keep them because they fit. I have a hard time finding boots that fit.
I use my Moab 3s for work I can work rain or shine I can run, jump, climb, and everything in between and not worry about rolling my ankle. I love the Gore-Tex for the rainy muddy slick environment I work in never have to worry about my feet bro soaking wet!
Thanks for the great feedback Will and for the recommendation!
Mine just arrived the other day and I have to say I am VERY pleased. Hands down, these are the most comfortable boots I've ever owned straight out of the box. With 8 years in the military daily wearing both combat and flight line boots, followed by 27 years in law enforcement, wearing mostly Danner boots, Merrell has them all beat. In the first two days, I've walked 12 miles at work in the warehouse and through the mud in the yard while caring for our livestock. My feet stayed dry and had zero irritation from a poor fit. I ordered "Wide" and that is exactly what I got. Given an average work day is typically 7 miles of walking, I'm sold!
Thank you for your amazing feedback!
