I love the look of the boots and the pink/teal/lime. They are comfortable to try on but why is there exposed foam in the tongue? It ruins the appearance of the boots and makes them look cheap. I am concerned about how this will wear over time. I will be returning :(
These books are amazing. My last pair of hiking boots were more than double the cost of these and they never fit me well. These Merrell boots are PERFECT for my high arch. So much support and comfortable since first try on. Absolutely no break in time needed. They are so comfy, almost cushy. I love the color as well. I wear these on fairly rugged terrain in Idaho but I also wear them semi casually in bad weather and they’re cute enough to pair with jeans. I wish I would have found these boots five years ago. Truly a great product at a very fair price.
I got these about 6 months ago and they look awful. The treads are still in good condition but they decided to do an unfinished edge for the tongue and this was such a bad design choice! Just a month in the threads started to fray, now the outer fabric and foam are falling apart and they look so bad and tattered. I normally have to replace my merrells once every 2 years or so when the treads go bald but these I'm already wanting to throw out because they look so trashed.
LOVE these shoes. I cannot say enough about how awesome they are. Comfortable, sturdy, & waterproof, they take me where I need to go. My feet remain dry, even when I wade into water deeper than the tops! I'm out on slippery rocks a lot, and I have NEVER fallen. The soles grip so well. Merrell has made an excellent shoe with fabulous retro styling.
I got these for Christmas. Husband bought them 12/16/23 and I wore them all month of January and halfway through this month of February 2024. The bottom soles are now falling apart. I am so sad. I really like Merrell's because they always feel comfortable but never had issues prior to this pair. It has not even been a full month and a half.
I love these! I went to Patagonia, walked on a glacier, got in waterfalls, walked on rocks and they did not get my feet wet, they were super sturdy and amazing quality!!
This was my first pair of mid hikers (I prefer ankle height) but I immediately loved how comfortable these boots felt when I tried them on. I bought them for a trip to Sri Lanka, and my first hike with them ended up being an all-day 8-mile trek in the rain forest – I didn’t know this going into the hike or I might have worn my broken-in boots instead! But these were sooooo comfortable and kept my feet happy all day. I wore them several times over the next couple weeks and every time was so happy I had decided on these boots. Also, I like that they are feminine without being too girly. Can’t wait to take them to Portugal next month!
I took a bit of a risk with these shoes, since I bought them just before doing some tough hikes in Phoenix. They exceeded my expectations. No blisters, no hotspots, no aching feet (common for me even with the best shoes) and they handled the gravel trails really well. Surprisingly breathable for a waterproof hiking shoe too. One thing I read in a lot of the reviews was that others needed to buy a full size up to have the shoe fit. I agree; I'm usually an 8.5, and a 9.5 fit me well. I would also recommend looking at the European sizing for these shoes if you're unsure of what to fit; I found those to be more accurate. I'm a 40 in European sizing normally, and I got a 40.5, which was great as it allowed me to comfortably put insoles in these shoes. Highly recommend these!
I was hopeful because I've gotten boots and shoes from Merrell before, but the cut of these boots for women is more like men's, the footbed most definitely wider than a B width, the footbed was just a little short, like Merrels can be, I had to order 1/2 size-up and put odor eater AND orthotic insert in the boot to make them fit. They pucker when I pull them tight enough, I can't stand that, smh. I've seen people complain about how cheap they seem, and part of that is fir breathability, like the tongue looks cheap with exposed foam, but I chalked that up to breathability, because the tongue also has numerous vent holes... It's a brown color, no plum to it. Though I kept them, I don't feel comfortable recommending them to other women unless they have kinda wide feet. Order 1/2 size up.
These are not great shoes. I bought them in a pinch, and yes they are waterproof. My hips don't hurt, so they are supportive, but my feet feel weary after wearing them. The other thing to really watch out for, is although they are waterproof, the grip is pretty terrible. I use them every day for walking each dog, and if it is rainy, they are slick. I have almost fallen a couple of times.
