Missing many small useful features to be good

Failed the test on a small stormy day. Soaked inside out. I may took a slightly larger size, but the lack of adjustment features is also a design failure. 1. No wrist pocket for RFID, i have to do a squat on every door. 2. No inner pocket to store my phone, battery dead on mountain because I can only store it on the ouside pocket. 3. The adjustment string is hard to pull, and I didn't find hood string until the 4th day. 4. No mesh on the vent, snows flow in when i fall and soaked me out. 5. Given the snow skirt, but no double zip, makes no sense. 6. Same GORETEX, but I feel the texture is less tough than my old one.

Great Jacket for Cold Temps and Storm Days

I am an OR Employee and skied in sample of this jacket a lot last winter, especially cold-temp night skiing and on storm days, as well as some frigid resort skiing in the Rockies. It's an perfect piece for all of these situations with the Gore fabric, mid-weight insulation and good venting. As a taller guy, I like the fit too, which is plenty long in the body and sleeves, but not baggy.

Excellent Jacket

I wore the Tungsten II for a week strait of resort skiing and absolutely loved the jacket. It was my first time on actual ski slopes, and I had the fall count to prove it. I'm not kidding, this jacket took a serious beating at the beginning and a few branch swipes once I was brave enough to do some woods runs. The first few days would have been unbearable if it weren't for this jacket and the Snowcrew Bibs. I never got snow in places it wasn't supposed to be, and I was able to regulate my body temperature with the vents quite effectively. The chest pockets are a great depth and size, the hand pockets large enough for gloved hands and quite warm. The hood fit perfectly over my helmet and was secured appropriately by the cinch cord. The Blue and Orange color scheme is quite fashionable, and garnered several nice complements that left me chuffed. After a full week on the slopes, the jacket is in excellent condition.

Great Jacket with light insulation

I've only been using a shell jacket for the last 5 years when skiing the resort, because I'm not a fan of bulky insulated jackets. I saw this and felt it may hit the sweet spot of light insulation for cold resort days, but able to work with different layering for other days. The jacket has worked out well. A few thoughts that could be improved upon: The powder skirt would be nice if its removeable as I've never used them, but it doesn't really get in the way. Second the OR logo stitched onto the right sleeve looks like it will tear off sooner rather than later. It would have been nice to use a different branding technique. Overall a great jacket and continues the run of quality gear from OR. I'm debating adding the Tungsten pants, but the color options leave something to be desired.

Not a durable jacket

Like the looks, fit, and waterproof nature of the jacket but it is simply not durable at all. This jacket has been on exactly 2 ski days on nothing but groomers. New to the sport, and had one fall on pretty soft snow. Unfortunately the jacket now has a tear in the back. Really surprised at this and would think it would not be so delicate. Super disappointing- wonder how this fabric has been test since it does not seem good for outdoor sport applications. Definitely do not recommend.

Not worth the money

Bought this as a replacement for a Helly Hansen and a Spyder jacket. Both were cheaper and are a much better and warmer. The only upside is it looks great. Other than that, it's not very warm, fits weird, and has less features than any jacket at its price point. Not likely to buy anything from OR again.

Good jacket overall with a few small things

Overall, this is a high quality jacket with a cool color way. A bit thinner and lighter than I expected but seems to insulate well regardless. Durability seems good for most general resort purposes but maybe not for trees. Pockets are good but wish there was a zippered inner pocket instead of a pouch.

Very Comfortable

I have been wearing this jacket skiing for the past couple of months. Very comfortable. The missing features for this jacket are a pocket in the sleeve for a ski pass and an interior zippered pocket for a wallet. Otherwise, I am very happy with the fit, comfort and warmth of this jacket.

I got this as a replacement for a previous OR Tungsten. Jacket is great but I cannot figure out why the new model doesn't have a wrist pocket for RFID cards?
