[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wow can I just start off by saying the nike pegasus trail 5 gtx is my new favorite running shoe! It’s sleek design and highly durable material really allow the nike pegasus trail 5 gtx to mold to my feet when on a run. I get great traction on my take off and allows me to really get an intense work out in. I love the color scheme of black and grey and really exemplifies the name Goretex. It’s a perfect snug fit and looks nice enough where I can wear out to things like baseball games and really feel the support under my feet (and I do a lot of walking during sporting events). Highly recommend to any avid runner; you will not he disappointed!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First thought when I slipped these on that my feet felt right at home as if they were in slippers. The fit and finish of the shoes is great, they feel as comfortable as they look and handle the trails great! First few runs were on gravel, grass, sand, dirt, asphalt and concrete. They maneuver in all terrains like it was meant for each one. I did a few miles each time and they could handle more - I couldn’t push them far enough! I’d be comfortable in these to daily tasks not just running, but as a running shoe they are top notch. I haven’t got to try out the goretex feature yet, but I’m sure they will handle it with ease. Very satisfied with these.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Aside from looking like a regular pair of training shoes, these are amazing on the trails! The tread is light enough to be able to run short distances (I’ve done about 5 miles mostly incline so far), but also grips and helps with stability on uneven dirt paths. The insoles are comfortable and can be worn on walks and while running errands. They also blend in perfectly with a gym or athleisure outfits which is my favorite part about them. Only “con” I have noticed so far is that they feel a little tight in the vamp area (I have pretty narrow feet) - hoping a little wear and tear and fixing the laces a little more will help.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve been thoroughly impressed with this trail shoe from the moment I first laced it up. I especially love the grip this shoe has even on rugged terrain. With these shoes, I feel confident on both uphill climbs and tricky descents. Another thing I love is that it's surprisingly lightweight, which makes for a comfortable and agile feel on the trails. The shoe offers excellent support and cushioning without sacrificing flexibility. Plus, the durability is top-notch—I've put these through some tough conditions, and they've held up exceptionally well. Overall, a stellar choice for anyone serious about hitting the trails!
Purchased ready for winter in the UK. Great daily’s offer the perfect bounce and comfort on every step, fit perfectly nicely snug around the ankle plenty of toe space. Looks smart and ultimately does its job perfectly. Having used the previous 4 GTX, these have a few positive differences; the react x is midsole is shaped perfectly for every tried it allows the foam to compress and spring forward naturally. Another difference is the toe box is more spacious with a better protection. Having tried both in side by side you can definitely feel these differences and I believe them to be worth the upgrade/update.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Must say these are the first pair of Nike Pegasus shoes I’ve found super comfortable. They typically run more narrow than I would like BUT these trail 5 gtx even have more toe box room! Wore these on a trail near my neighborhood and I love the cushion support for my heels (esp after long hours after work). Even got some water on them, and the water rolls right off to my surprise. I think these would also be a great pair of shoes for people who work in health care; they are great for tons of walking/standing, repels liquid, and the black and grey color way wouldn’t show any staining and goes with any color scrubs. The material also makes it easy to clean with a brush for any dirt/dust.
I needed some hiking shoes to hike North Cascades National Park in Seattle. Never had hiking shoes before, but hated that they looked so clunky. I saw that trail running shoes work well for hikes as well and allow your feet to stay flexible. I saw these for sale and gave it a try. Wow. It genuinely provided so much support for hiking and light jogging. I hiked through brush, rocks, gravel, tree roots, grass, and other terrains. I didn't slip a single time and the shoes really cushioned each step. Safe to say, I would have been doomed with regular running shoes. After hiking a few days, the shoes still looked new! They were a bit dusty from the trail itself, though. Treads on the bottom looked new, didn't see any scratches or gouges, laces were not frayed. I got the Gore-Tex variant, so at the end of the hike, I walked into the shallow end of a lake and wiped them off, no water got in. I half-sized up. My regular shoe size is a 9, but I went 9.5 because I wore thicker socks and appreciate the toe room during hiking as I don't want my toes banging the front of the shoe. Feet also swell when hiking. All in all, I hiked around 20 miles on this trip as well as walking around city areas, so probably closer to 30 miles. I had no issues whatsoever and would recommend them. If Nike wants to sponsor me for this review, I'm all ears because they've won me over with these purposeful shoes.
My 5th pair and first of this generation. Very comfortable for trails and road. The Nike Pegasus trail range is fantastic for cross trail and road running and is very versatile. 22km run out of the box without any issues. Fully waterproof and very light. Great grip for light to moderate trail use. Fit is just right. Sometimes worn for every day use and walking - again, this shoe feels great for daily use too. If I was looking for something, I would say the sole wears quicker than expected but not dropping a start for that as I do cover a lot of mileage. Lastly, this new generation is very stylish compared to the last. They look great
My go to shoe for running on wet roads, sidewalks, mild trails: good grip, lugs not too deep or far apart, responsive midsole. Waterproof but breathable. Heel counter deep and snug enough to prevent heel lift, even with my custom orthotics replacing the insoles. Ankle cuff better than version 4: loops on heel counter and tongue help to position that cuff. Secure midfoot lockdown without lace bite. Toe box height and width sufficient for me without feeling loose or sloppy. More stable than regular Pegasus: good for uneven surfaces.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Nike Pegagus Trail 5 GTX is a very comfortable trail runner thanks to the React foam. The addition of the GORE-TEX to the upper was not too restrictive although there was some slight tightness around the midfoot area. The updated mesh sock liner is a nice addition although it does lead to a little bit more heel slippage, which altogether was not too cumbersome when running. The sneaker is extremely versatile and performs well on all surfaces. The overall design is great and very stylish and wearable even while off the trail.
