I did a lot of research on the different boots supplied by Salomon, as Ive owned a pair for 3 years prior to getting these. So wanted something new and able to replace the ones i have. These are a great looking design, however they are just not trust worthy out on the trails, find them super slippery and hard to trust on the trails. Also the lace lock section on one of mine has already started pipping off. Such a nice promising design, but feels as if it doesn't hold up to the task.

This is by far the best pair of boots I have ever owned! Great fit, amazing warmth, super comfortable. I honestly don’t know why I waited so long. The color BLUE NIGHTS is absolutely awesome. I wish all of their boots came in this color. Best color hands down.
Bought these boots primarily for the Rocky Mountains, but took them on the West Coast Trail since I preferred boots that fit my feet better. The WCT was more muddy and wet, rather than rocky. However, these boots performed well on the minimal rocky sections and the waterproof membrane held up in 6 days of temperate rainforest environment. We did Owen Point stretch, including the boulder section. That's where these boots shined while speeding across the boulders. May have not gotten the chance to try these in pure alpine, but my experience with these leaves enough trust in these if they can handle sea water wet rocks and mud. The lacing system that is adjustable closer to the toes and locks near the ankles was a life-saver for fitting depending on terrain
Got these after pulling warranty from the X-ultra forces mid. (Save your money) This shoe is leaps and bounds above! The fit is amazing. They have that glove like fit. So hard to find a true lace to toe when you wear 14s. They are both sturdy and flexable in all the right places. The metal clasps right below the top hooks, lock the laces into place. This lets you tye your laces without the worry of giving slack to your snug fit. This was an excellent suprise that wasnt highlighted on the website when i was shopping. It should be cause it's quite a selling point for me. All in all im super pleased with the purchase. My only knock is the lack of other color choices, but im sure they are soon to come. Im going to purchase a second pair in black when they become available.
So far, so good. I specifically purchased these boots to hike the Tour du Mont Blanc in September and wanted something light with good ankle support. Have only put 20 hilly miles on them so far but I think I made a good choice. I like the fit, the Gore-Tex uppers, and grippy outsole. The one superfluous thing on these boots is the little metal ring that is meant to lock the laces into place--it's annoying and unnecessary.
I have taken these on two rocky hikes, and have been amazing so far. They’re the perfect cross between the X Ultra 4 and quest boot. They’re not too heavy, not too light, the outsole is thick enough that you won’t feel the rocks too much! In other words, it is as if the X ultra 4 and Quest had a baby lol. I did however switch the insoles for better stability and support which I do for all footwear.
Bought these boots for a 7-day hike up/down Mount Kenya. I ordered them last minute and didn’t have time to break them in. They fit right out of the box. Super comfortable. Excellent waterproofing. Vey good grip and ankle protection. I didn’t get to test them beyond this trek as I left them for the local porters who were hiking in poor quality shoes/sandals. Will buy a new pair.
Only hiked approx 30k in these so far. First impressions are good, they feel light but sturdy with good support. As with all GTX boots in the summer, they’re warm so opt for lightweight socks. Really like the design. I sized up +1 and didn’t regret it.
These are a great option when the terrain/conditions require more than a hiking shoe but not a full stiff boot. First hike was in a foot of new snow and feet stayed dry and warm. Super comfortable and very light.
Brought this for hiking and serves its purpose very well! Warm, great ankle support, waterproof, so easy to clean after a muddy hike and has a fashionable look/ style aside from hikes.
