An expensive mistake.
I think I would have liked these but I was so disappointed when the strap broke on the first try.
Strap broke on 2nd hike
I second what the other commenter said. The strap on the akyra II (which the first one was my favorite shoe) are weak. Mine snapped in the second hike I took them on. Very frustrating. I recommend not buying the akyras until La Sportiva fixes this issue….
Good Shoes
I had no familiarity with La Sportiva, so I was a little hesitant to purchase, especially with the European sizing, but I really like them. I usually wear Saloman trail shoes, which I have always liked, but for some reason I decided to give these a try. I usually wear a 7-1/2, occasionally an 8, so I ordered the size 39, and they just fit. I would not want them any smaller. But they are comfortable straight out of the box. They have good support, and they grip your heel well. And they are so stinkin' cute.

This is my second pair of the La Sportiva Akyra II hiking shoes. These shoes have great traction. I feel confident, light, and nimble on steep rocky/gravelly terrain in these shoes. As an added bonus, I love the colors. I highly recommend checking out these hiking shoes.
